Don’t see West Ham spending another 30m on a forward who’ll sit on the bench half the season. Fair play to them if so, it’s a squad game and they’ll really be showing some ambition there.

After West Ham’s Scamacca deal, I think we’ll see Broja here on loan now. Should then free up the budget for a big ticket rw.

I’ve always liked McNeil; seemingly great attitude, works hard, presses well and a wand of left foot. At one point I thought he’d be the next big thing but… he’s just never kicked on for whatever reason. Last season in particular he was truly awful; reminded me a lot of some our wingers, all graft but little quality. Despite his poor season, I think there’s a very good player there, just not for us. We need someone who can guarantee goals from the right wing.

As a nod to this forum I’ll say Paqueta too, I suppose.

I’d rather not bail Arsenal out. Until Tielemans rules us out I’d be very hesitant to give them any extra funds.

He’s good (and would be decent partner to Botman) but there’s no way we’re spending money on more defenders.

Might be right tbh. My memory of him pre-injury was he was absolutely imperious but that was probably due to his amazing Everton performance (which is all I can really remember).

People sleeping on Palace this season, they’ll finish above us I reckon. They have a very decent young squad and have been making very solid moves for years now (Doucoure in particular is an amazing signing). That Dougie Freedman is an absolute transfer wizard.

Imagine how annoying this window would have been under Ashley; sitting back pleading poverty while bloody Forest are bodying you in the transfer window.

Seen quite a bit of him too. Think he’s got everything; really clever footballer- understands his tactical role very well, both-footed, deceptively difficult to muscle him off the ball and has all the physical attributes for this league. Sticking my neck out here going against our resident Eredivisie expert (and I understand it’s quite a step-up for him) but I’ve been so impressed by what I’ve seen.

They’d be able to almost double their money on him in a year imo, certainly in 2 years. I really really rate him.

There are bargains out there to be had -Palinha (17m), Sinisterra (25m), Awoniyi (17m), Kamara (free) were all very attainable and would massively improve us- we just seem to be resolutely targeting players that clubs don’t want to sell.

That being said, Mara seems really promising (based off of an article someone posted on here).

Super late I know but I’ve just clocked that Palhinha has signed for Fulham?? That’s an absolutely ridiculous signing, possibly one of the biggest coups I’ve ever seen in recent years. This guy should be playing in the Champions League and would absolutely stroll into most teams’ in the top 6’s starting 11. How on Earth have they managed that, at 17m no less?
