  1. Honestly, don't think tonight changes anything. We've been terrible away from home all season. We were terrible again tonight. We're a jekyll and hyde team and have been significantly better at home. We play a lot of the teams around us at home over the coming months. Those are the games that will decide our fate. I'm still at a 5. Saturday is massive.

    Steve McClaren

IF we had sensible owner, I think it would be fair to say McClaren has three games to keep his job. There needs to be at least 3 points and signs of progress in these three. There is a two week break after the Chelsea game on Feb. 13. After that period we have three games in a week - Man City (h), Stoke (a), Bournemouth (h). March 2 - April 16 will likely decide our fate: Bournemouth (h) Leicester (a) mackems (h) Norwich (a) Southampton (a) Swansea (h) He better be damn sure he's got the right man before that run of games.
  3. Well said, except if we go down the blame lies at the feet of McClaren, Charnley, Carr, and, first and foremost, Ashley. He's responsible for creating a negative culture around the club, he's responsible for neglecting the squad for years, and he's responsible for appointing cheap, 'yes' men in the most important positions.
  4. I hope no one touts that "biggest spenders in January" nonsense. It'd be one thing if we were in the top 10 and making a concerted push to achieve something. It's a meaningless tag that is only an indicator of desperation when the squad has been neglected for years and we're stuck in the relegation zone in February.
  5. Exactly what I was saying today, if someone told me we would have been one of the biggest spenders in Europe this window I would've blown me load...... But instead we have brought 2 very mediocre players ( shelvey and Townsend) and 2 foreigners I never heard of tbh genuinely would have been better if we hadn't of signed any one because least we would have an excuse when we go down Come on.
  6. Lerner might be a worse owner than Ashley at this point. Probably a much better human being, but they are fucked.
  7. You would think an extra £21m in the bank would be just as attractive.
  8. Except Bony and Benteke are nothing like Berahino.

    Jose Enrique

We probably weren't in the market for one until they all got injured. It does seem like we have someone (Jetro?) in mind for the summer.

    Jose Enrique

Yes, unless he asked for a new contract or a raise.

    Loïc Remy

Please sign him - loan or permanent, doesn't matter.

    Jose Enrique

I'm hoping we thought we could get him for free (as in no fee and Liverpool cover his wages) and when they said they wanted some money we said fuck off. That's the only way I could be ok with us even being interested.
  13. I find it hard to believe we can't find another LB somewhere in the the world to loan for a few months.
  14. The media don't have a clue. They get bits of information here and there. It's pointless speculating on the specifics.
  15. Wow, great news. Well deserved. [cynic]Will get us a bigger fee in the summer[/cynic]
  16. Arsenal 3-1 Southampton Leicester 2-1 Liverpool Norwich 0-2 Spurs Sunderland 1-1 Man City West Ham 2-0 Aston Villa Crystal Palace 0-1 Bournemouth Man Utd 2-2 Stoke West Brom 1-1 Swansea Everton 1-1 Newcastle Watford 0-2 Chelsea
  17. Will be interesting to watch next season. Love that they blew up SSN's deadline day nonsense.
  18. Is he part of that agency where all our players seem to come from? If so, this seems like it was a favor. Made no sense.
  19. Not going to lie, it's kind of fun being involved in one of deadline day's biggest stories. Hope it ends well - think he could do really well here. Also, if it's true they don't want to sell to us it really shows West Brom's level of ambition and belief - they are currently closer to Stoke than we are to them.
