Oh man, all other stats sites may be useless soon: https://fbref.com/en/squads/b2b47a98/Newcastle-United-FC For those that aren't familiar with this network of sites, it started with baseball-reference and it has just about everything you could ever want to know.

This is the crux of their video strategy. Prime customers are far more valuable to them than a random Amazon shopper, so they use video (mostly TV series and kids content, but increasingly live sports) to get people to sign up for Prime. I think they've almost reached market saturation in the US in terms of Prime households, so it would not be surprising if they are going to push it internationally.

It's actually pretty rare the more you think about it. Can't say Bergkamp because there are two. Love Beckham, but his kick at Simeone is probably more memorable for many than any one goal he scored.
-
Have there been any more frustrating games this season than the two against Everton? The fact we got zero points from them is ridiculous.
-
This whole thread is hilarious. I hope we draw them in a cup next season.

I don't qualify for a map. I've been to four in England - SJP, WHL, Hillsborough, and Millmoor.

It's almost like Rafa knows what he's doing. Ridiculous that we've only lost to City and Liverpool since Boxing Day. It's not hard to imagine better results from Leicester and Everton at home. A 2-2 draw against Leicester and a win against Everton (Darlow makes the save, one of the two that hit the post go in) and we'd be ahead of both of them right now in 8th.

Board browsing on Tapatalk is working for me -- hangs occasionally but otherwise fine. I also have no issues on my laptop. Thank you, Dave.

One more will break them and could be a very fun day.

The two best implementations of video/tech in sports are tennis and football (goal-line) because they are nearly instant (and not surprising humans have been completely removed). Video reviews in baseball and the NFL are painfully slow, but the big difference is both of those sports are naturally stop/start. Long replay reviews in basketball feel worse than those other two sports and a football match is similar. It loses all momentum. I'm 100% in favor of using technology to ensure decisions are made correctly, but they need a system that balances accuracy with speed. If a decision can't obviously be changed within X amount of time (maybe 30 seconds?) then stick with the ruling on the field. Egregious errors will be fixed with a lot less impact on the game.

We also have the opposite problem with Kenedy and Slimani, who need to get up to full match fitness. Would be interested in seeing stats on this if someone can find them, but I'd be willing to bet there are a couple teams in the bottom half who have used mostly the same team all season and may limp to the finish. Huddersfield is the one I would guess without looking it up.
-
I'm sure the UK ratings were through the roof for that match.
-
So the Gracenote simulator is at a 2. I'm not sure how anyone can be over a 5 at this point unless you think half our team is going to get injured.
-
They are gone if he's losing the players. They'll end up sacking him in mid-March, appoint someone else that's underwhelming but it wouldn't matter if it was Pepe as they'll be too far gone.
-
Could that be the Xmas fixtures? Imagine 10 games on TV on Boxing Day. Fantastic! Don't have to imagine - we have every match in every gameweek available here in the US.
-
A glimmer of hope for the takeover if the domestic rights are going to plateau.
-
I'd bet my life Huddersfield won't finish eight points above us.
-
Hope so. More likely he turned up because of who we were playing. This is my concern - if we go 1-0 down at Bournemouth then we'll see if he's actually turned a corner.
-
I hope he doesn't get sacked. "He never had a chance to implement his brand of football. It takes time to go from Pulis to Pardew's tiki taka."
-
If he's not I'd start to be concerned we're not going to see much of him. Perfect time for a break.
-
Yup, would be happy for them to win that.
-
9 points from those would be a good return based on this season and they'd still likely be fucked. Happy for the them to beat Huddersfield, Swansea, and Palace though if they lose the other three.
-
Conversely, when there is a slow motion replay and they cut away just before the crowd is able to react. The worst.
