  1. Forgot how lush Burn’s header was. Fuck me. But Osula has it for me.
  2. Positive news for us heading into the transfer market. Bunch of money for a player we haven’t really missed. But more importantly it sends a message to young players; we can develop your talent to Barcelona heights. This is a stronger message than most realize.
  3. This season was a neverending sequence of getting kicked in the balls. Conceding late. Losing games late. Isak debacle. Losing twice to Sunderland. That loss to Barca. Probably forgetting some more absolute anguish. A solid 3/10.
  4. We’ve racked up 0.15 xg. Great stuff.
  5. We get more money than we originally paid for him and I’m happy. Even better if he goes abroad. I think he’s probably been fit to play for the last couple of games at least but the club hasn’t been willing to risk injury. We haven’t missed him one bit. He’s generally come across well in interviews and usually puts in a lot of work. Don’t have a problem with him at all but something’s definitely brewing behind the scenes. Relieved that it hasn’t surfaced.

God how I loved that him and Osula both started up front and shared 3 goals between them. But by god does this kid need to build some strength. Folds like an accordion as soon as someone touches his back.
  7. Congratulations Celtic. World’s tallest dwarf.

    Anthony Elanga

It’s all been a bit of an enigma. He’s been fit as a butcher’s dog pretty much all season, played an enormous amount of minutes, has good attitude, never looks absolutely shorn of confidence and not often been absolutely honking. Just… not effective at all. In all, it could easily be argued that it sums up to the worst transfer of the season. Maybe we can farm him out on loan to a club and playing style that suits him better.

Feel for him. The way we set up today was no place for him. I’d still want to see him start a home game behind Osula before the season ends.

I’m all right with him being back up goalie next season and I’m pretty sure he knows he can’t claim to be no1 for any PL side any more.
  11. That's a monkey off our back. Well done all around.
  12. Yet another bad day for the Osula haters.
  13. For all the over-coached rigidity of modern football, the current best two teams in the world really play some of the best football I’ve ever seen. Just an absolute treat this match.

If we don’t play him up front with Osula or Wissa against Brighton I’ve given up on Howe.
  15. If anyone thinks we have a chance with Iraola, Chelsea will be in for him and probably Man United. If Arsenal fuck royally up they might be in and maybe Real Madrid and some of the Italian giants. Liverpool might get rid of Slut and so on and so forth. In spite of this Rosenior debacle, I’m pretty sure we’ll see a continuing trend of “company men” being hired by the bigger clubs in an attempt to make the general structure so strong a head coach doesn’t matter all that much. That includes us. I’ll bet there will be a “mutual agreement” declaration before the season ends and a pretty random continental head coach hired who’s supposed to work extremely close with a range of coaches and directors.
  16. No way in hell there wasn’t a clause in place that lets Chelsea sack him for minimal cost.

Scandalous we paid that kind of money for a player mainly to make up the numbers. For this kind of output you pay 15m. That’s Longstaff territory. There’s definitely something there. But he’ll soon be 25 years old and has played more than 150 PL games. The time for him to discover what kind of player he is or what he consistently offers to a PL club is fast disappearing.
  18. Iraola is probably quite a bit out of our league. A large portion of the big clubs will be needing a head coach before next season and he’ll have his pick. However I do suspect much like Brentford, Bournemouth have such a brilliant backroom setup that the head coach position doesn’t really matter all that much. In other words I’m not entirely sure how much ownership Iraola has in Bournemouth’s success during his time there. I’d be happy for us to take a chance on someone new. No idea who but I think we need it.
  19. Pretty much the only bright spot around NUFC at the moment. Even if he doesn’t end up playing for us the next few seasons he’s slowly but surely adding a nice premium on his transfer fee. Can’t fathom why it’s seemingly impossible for us to play 4-2-3-1 with Wolte behind him. Or just a plain old 4-4-1-1.
  20. Clueless in attack but what’s worse is Bournemouth racking up 3xg on our turf. We’re woeful defensively.
  21. Take Elanga off and put him into jail. Osula RW please.
