  1. Let's not cheapen the achievement by being silly chaps. It may be some way off the standard of men's football and understandably so but nonetheless it is an outstanding achievement and it's our lasses. Now we'll hopefully see the NUFC women with some proper support and climbing up the leagues and will smash the Yanks and take the world cup. Our teams hardly ever win owt, if you're a fan of England, a fan of football, or a fan of Newcastle then any one or combination of those things should make you proud of what's happened today. Enjoy the moment. They're very few and far between.
  2. Loved how she was geeing up the crowd before it too. Absolutely right to do so as well, to push them over the line at 1 - 1. Then provided the goal to hopefully seal it.
  3. Generally a good standard this excluding a few frustrating lapses.
  4. Was nice in Greece the other day - a relatively small bar 75% full all cheering the lasses on like. Felt really pleased for them.
  5. First booking was soft and the latter tackle should have seen her off.

  8. I'm not sure if it's an age thing but I don't get this whole love in for AdamP... I think it's good he's enjoying himself and making a living from it but people singing his name etc. All seems very strange to me like.

  10. Aye. TBH we'd already rocked to 'the other side' after the first bout of publicised "thefts". Sadly we have to expect that some of the flags will inevitably be taken, but we have to live in the hope that people can distinguish between what is Wor Flags and what isn't. Ultimately, we want to generate a culture where the fans bring their own of their own accord so it seems senseless creating a culture that prevents just that. However, we do have a duty of care for those who donate and looking after their respective donations accordingly. We're currently looking into alternatives; pole bins for example, where fans can bring their own flag, pole it up, use it and easily fold it up for after when they wanna go to the pub. Also perhapd using some form of sticker system at the turnstiles etc just to whack on the flag or pole to identify it isn't wor flags. There's a whole host of ideas but it's finding the one that benefits all, most. We don't want to be labelling all our flags as it has the potential to add 5seconds to the putting together of each flag. Which sounds ridiculous but isn't when we do this en masse. We have to be lean, because volunteers already spend a great deal of time. Even over recent weeks when most people have been footy free, some of our lasses and lads have been in depoling/repoling and redistributing and that's before the new purchases come in to replace the knackered ones. In all honesty, this summer has been a wake up call for us to become more organised and ensure we aren't carrying excess waste and mapping out where we keep certain materials and tools. The takeover has been one hell of an enjoyable headache for us in some senses, and just as the club is growing, so are we, some of which you'll see in the coming weeks. Sorry for waffling by the way... Just giving some insight...
  11. We put a tweet out the othwr day encouraging fans to take their own but also not to take ours. We'll probably do the same tomorrow. Thanks for the prompt mate Canny little charity raffle started tonight for a box experience vs Forest BTW folk...
  12. For me it was more positioning and awareness that were the issues last night. The keepers were both fairly good. Especially ours.
  13. I see the point you're making, but I think it is worth females considering for the female game. Which is what people are most likely getting at. Could be wrong, but I'm sure in the Olympics (for example) they won't go in at the same weight levels or increments for men and for women, men (on the whole) are physically stronger and larger than women. It's just the way it is. Otherwise, they'd be in the same competition too and most likely incapable of winning. Obviously there will be exceptions to the rule like.
  14. An increasing feeling I have had since the takeover is that I have little time for negativity with NUFC nowadays. Pardon the language but I've made myself sick of being a misery cunt under Ashley when the best of things seemed utter horseshit. So glad I'm back to being my positive irrational self
  15. TBH I was of the view the goalkeeping saved the blushes of some very poor defending up until the first goal. After that England tightened up and screwed their loaves.
  16. I don't think it's anything to do with 'dumbing it down' to be honest. It's working with people's relevant size. Just seems a tad over-defensive putting it the way you have tbh.
  17. It felt that way last night a little. Although the England keeper made some top drawer saves, with one right underneath the bar.
  18. No, I was at the pub and only kinda half saw the second half and extra time. Fair dues though. I just found players to be out of position a fair bit certainly at the start of yesterday's game and seemingly lacking awareness of their surroundings.
