    Sunderland

I know at least two of the people in that video. They're canny.
  2. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/mike-ashley-puts-newcastle-united-up-for-quick-sale-v73tn8zvj (I'd love to read the rest if possible...) So perhaps the "Roll up! Roll up! Easy terms available!" wording is just another example of unprofessionalism and ineptitude, not quite the desperate appeal it sounds like.
  3. The article states that Staveley's group haven't signed an NDA, but that three other interested parties have. Would copy the article across, but difficult on my phone.
  4. I'd say it's the best place to go for, yep. Other than the Ostkurve, there was bugger all atmosphere in the ground. You want to be as close as possible to that area.
  5. Was there for the recent Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen, and got tickets just above the Ostkurve. They were seating tickets, but everyone was just standing anyway (trying to keep warm as much as anything), and the attendance was so poor in that area that you could pretty much go wherever you wanted.
  6. Just about reaches 1994 Caribbean Cup levels of absurdity. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbados_4%E2%80%932_Grenada_%281994_Caribbean_Cup_qualification%29 The match started off routinely, and Barbados scored two goals, establishing the two-goal winning margin they needed. In the 83rd minute, however, the game changed when Grenada scored a goal. This late goal would take Grenada through to the finals unless Barbados could score again. Barbados attempted to score for the next few minutes, but because they were unable to, they switched to an alternate strategy, of tying up the game so that they could try to achieve the two-goal margin in extra-time. In the 87th minute they stopped attacking, and the defender Sealy and the goalkeeper Horace Stoute passed the ball between each other before intentionally scoring an own goal. Now the game was at 2–2, with just three minutes of normal time left. The Grenadian players caught on to Barbados's plan, and realized that they would advance in the tournament by scoring a goal in either net. This left the match in the highly unusual position of no clear side of the field for one team versus the other, but rather one team trying to score a goal in either net, and the other team trying to defend both. For the next three minutes, Barbadian players successfully defended both sides. Still tied at 2−2, the game went on to extra-time, where the winning "Golden Goal" would count double — so Barbados only had to score once to qualify for the 1994 Caribbean Cup. Thorne scored the winner for Barbados and they advanced to the next round.[2]
  7. Stumbled across the Playground Football page on Uncyclopedia a couple of months ago at work. Ended up spending around five hours on the site. http://mirror.uncyc.org/wiki/Playground_Football
  8. Have absolutely no idea how he's getting on at Besiktas, but I would get Bilic in. As per the last issue of WSC, at least the press conferences would be a laugh...

    Sunderland...

I work with loads of Sunderland fans and quite a few of my best mates are season ticket holders at the SoL. I can't remember the last time I came across a mackem who had opinions anything like what you read on RTG. The vast majority of them are perfectly alright, in all honesty.
  11. Lad who I used to go to school with and played football for a couple of sides with is working for the club now, going off those pictures. He did sports science at Northumbria Uni and wanted to move into physiotherapy. Sunderland fan, like.

    Sunderland...

Was speaking to a Mackem mate of mine the other day who said that the major story doing the rounds was that one of the main reasons behind the delay of the transfer was that Bruce was desperate to find a way out having seen the player up close. Milton Nunez mk. 2?
  13. Have there been any details released about Bilbao's away shirt for the coming season?
  14. Rumoured new Spurs with placeholder sponsor. http://cdn.cloudfiles.mosso.com/c54102/x2_1378805 http://www.spursornothing.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8832

    RIP sale thread.

SSN reporting that Ashley is to receive £150m bid from a North East businessman. Was only half listening. Fee is to include next seasons transfer budget, apparently.
  17. Alex Ferguson is interested in him according to this mornings Mail. e: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1180625/The-new-Ronaldo-Wigan-winger-Valencia-line-replace-Man-Uniteds-sulky-star.html

There was Geremi at Spurs last season.
  19. Teams often stay in the Malmaison when they travel up. Pompey even stayed there last year when they were playing the Mackems - can't really blame them mind.
