Depends which Mackem supporters you ask - some say it means 'Follows the Mackems' others will tell you it means 'F*** the Mags' Of course it means "f**k the mags" Those who say the former are liars. They are OBSESSED with us. Even the reasonably level-headed ones all toe the party line.

I was there in the middle of the Gallowgate and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen at a match. The .com comments say it all really. Luton were a horrible bunch of twats, the away trip there was always one of the worst of the season, cos we always seemed to get beat. The miner's strike was still a recent memory and teams like Luton seemed to be the epitome of Thacherism. It really was US against THEM, especially after their performance in the away game earlier in the season. Mind you, I remember us passing the ball around for a lot longer before Kenny sat on the ball, maybes I'm just losing it in me old age.

Keegan for me, but if you're going back that far, then Colin Veitch was arguably more important than Aitken. "Veitch captained the successful United side which won League Championships in 1905, 1907 and 1909, the FA Cup in 1910 and were FA Cup finalists in 1905, 1906, 1908 and 1911, and also represented England on six occasions."

I notice all the people saying the mackem result doesn't matter appear to come from outside of the area. I live slap bang in between Newcastle and Sunderland, work and drink with a load of mackems and I can tell you it DOES matter.

And thank fuck Arsenal didn't give up when they were 2 - 0 down or today would have been a disaster.

Pen to the Arse! 2 - 2 Come on!

That's the answer. If you have a team of injury-prone players, chances are you're going to go through an injury-crisis Agreed. Also throw in the fact that we have played fuck all games this season compared to recent seasons (no European games and early exits in the cups). When you're playing two games a week all season, you're bound to pick up more injuries.

Cos it's at Anfield.

Get in! Crouch 1 - 0

Anyone see Beano frothing at the mouth just there? Over nowt of course. Thought he was meant to have turned into this calm, mild mannered fella. mackems.gif

I have it on good authority, from one of the blokes who was in shot on TV last night as Keegan, Ashley and Mort entered the directors box, that that is EXACTLY what is going to happen.

Clemett's a proper odious little inbred t***. Jeff Brown's a nice bloke for a mackem though tbf, sometimes gets in my local.

Does this ref know the hand ball rule?

Spot on indeed. Must be the first time I've ever agreed with Alan Green, mind you.

Too right mate. And Martins hasn't been as bad as they're making out either. Come on!

Plain and simply YES. Both were fat porkers before which was tolerated by the old regime even though there performances were also s**** but the new fitness coach Ramos brought in is doing wonders. James is clearly directing that comment at us which dosnt really make much sense as theres definatly been an improvement since Ramos took over. I think that's why people are guessing it's directed at us; Sam is very high profile in his use of ProZone/Heart monitors etc., and there hasn't been a noticable improvement yet. Can't believe anyone would get particularly wound up over what he's 'heard' though ah but there is an improvement. lets see- who do we have injured at the moment? ramage and carr iirc? comparing that to 13 at one point last season. also, we are getting late goals and looking more likely to score than concede in the last minute, with the exception of offside bastards at stamford bridge. Personally, I think our lack of injuries this season compared to the last couple is more down to us playing loads less games. We must have played a dozen more games by Christmas last year and the year before with the Intertoto and all that. If, (god forbid) we get knocked out of the cup next week, then I reckon this season we will play less games than any season in the last hundred years or so. I wonder if we'll still hear the same excuses about the players being tired.

Probable Chelsea lineup against probable Newcastle lineup: Pizzaro - Viduka Kalou - Martins Cole - Milner Obi Mikel - Smith Sidwell - Geremi Essien - Butt Bridge - N'Zogbia Ben Haim - Taylor / Cacapa / Rozehnal / Faye Alex - Taylor / Cacapa / Rozehnal / Faye Fereira - Beye Cech - Given Wouldn't take any of our lot over any of theirs tbh with the possible exception of Charlie, but he's being played at left back whereas Bridge is a natural there. They're still stronger than us in every department. Add to that the shambolic tactics we're likely to employ and it all makes for depressing reading. Sure, their absentees mean we might not come back with our ar$es looking like the Japanese flag, but we should still expect a vigorous humping. I'd love to say otherwise but I just can't see it myself. Cole's in suspenders suspended. :bunny:

I seriously doubt he will actually, if his story that his attack was provoked is true he probably won't get any form of a sentence, just a fine. Are you on glue!! His latest escapade was no doubt provoked, but he is already on bail awaiting the Dabo case (that alone could result in a sentence) which was adjourned a couple of weeks ago. No judge or magistrate is going to go easy on him now that he has broken those bail conditions. He going down

The point is; Allardyce bought Barton knowing full well about his past "incidents", including the court case pending for the attack on Dabo. This case alone, could, if handled by an unsympathetic judge, result in a five year stretch in chokey for Mister Barton. £6.5 million for a known troublemaker who could be banged up within six months?? Ask any Citeh fan what they thought about this bit of business and they'll laugh at you (remember he was widely touted as City's best player last season). The fat fool should be sacked for that, nevermind the teams shite performances this season.
