Worth a watch just to see South Korean midgets attempt to play football.

  6. At least one first team player that can play on the left or a striker that can play off Carroll is needed.

  8. Some of the anti-Pardew shit on here is very ill thought out. Tottenham are a far better team than we are and it showed today. Krul 6.5 A better performance. Don't think he could have got anywhere near the first one from Lennon but he perhaps didn't get his angles right with the Bale goal though that was very well struck. Great save at the end of the first to keep us in it. Perch 6 Questionable choice by Pardew to replace Enrique. I think he was picked for his pace over Kadar. Didn't do as bad as most people feared and did well to keep with Lennon when they were attacking down his side early in the second half. Drifted too far inside and gave Lennon a bit too much room on his right foot in the second half. Offered nothing going foward and is pretty weak in the passing game. I hope Kadar is chosen next time. Colo 7 No mistakes at the back but I was particularly disappointed to see him long ball at as much as he did. He is great on the deck and the stuff we played today was wasting his talent. Saylor 6.5 Could possibly have covered his angles better on Bale's goal and showed him onto his weaker foot. Criminally left Pavylchenko run off him for an unmarked header with that Krul super save at the end of the first half . Simpson 7 Kept Bale relatively quiet. Played defensively but had to against such a dangerous winger Jonas 6 Offered little going forward, only the cross for Carroll early on sticks out as a contribution. Enrique not playing made Jonas look like an even lamer duck out there. A definite position to strengthen asap. Smith 7 Happy with the way he played today and did get in some good challenges. Was tidy but of course isn't a creative player which is what we were lacking today. MOdric and VDV didn't get much space or time which was part of the gameplan and both he and Tiote did well to block many avenues and Tottenham's short passing game outside the box. Tiote 7 Decent performance but was lucky to stay on. Was undisciplined with his tackles, but is a tidy passer of the ball and did have one or two runs through the midfield. Credit to him for keeping his cool and not going to ground after Kaboul's headbutt. Handled it very well. Routledge 5.5 Totally gash today. Can't recall anything positive as he couldn't cross today and fluffed an opportunity by creaming himself when the ball fell to him when Ranger was in prime position for a cross. Barton 5.5 The difference between Tottenham and us is that they have creative players through the centre like Modric and VDV who create chances and get behind the defence with neat passing all over the pitch including just putside the box. Barton is the only comparable player and he let us down today. His set pieces were just horrible and just could not find his range with his passing at all. He did however fight hard and got through alot of work and his short passing game was okay. Carroll 6.5 As always, was a workhorse up front, but when he is fed shit instead of hale things aren't always going to work. Wasted a free kick that would have looked very embarrassing had it not hit a defender. Looked tired to me and understandably. Leaning on him too heavily Ranger 6 Didn't have any impact on our play. Lovenkrands 6 Not a winger but his touch when he was in acres of space in the box was very ordinary and greatly reduced the danger from that particular attack. Team 7 Noone can question the commitment of any player today. As mentioned Smith and Tiote were able to stop Modric and VDV to not influencing the game too much but we just didn't have anyone in the side that looked like creating anything. Even when we had a 1 man advantage i thought Tottenham looked more likely to score which isn't good enough. Our passing outside and into the box were woeful and a key contributer to our loss today. Tottenham are a better side and it's hard to be too critical after a loss at White Hart Lane aganist to strongest Spurs side in a long time. Pardew 6.5 Choosing Perch over Kadar was a mistake in my opinion but i can understand why he did it. The way we played today lacked and flair or guile and we are definitely over using the long ball to Carroll tactic, though I will agree he is a little limited with choices by what he has at the club. Rolled the dice a little by leaving Tiote on the pitch who seemed very hungry for a read card. Do we have a plan B? As of yet he hasn't shown us one.
  9. Taylor doesn't compliment Colo as well as Williamson does. Disagree to a point, Taylor offers all the physicality Williamson does and is quicker. However Taylor is a more aggressive defender than Williamson and will get drawn further up the pitch than where Colo likes to sit. This is evident in the third goal where Colo keeps Tevez onside, but it was probably the right line for the Cb's to be playing in that instance. They haven't had anywhere near the time, game time or training time as Colo and Willo to build an understanding. I firmly believe Taylor is a more talented individual than Williamson and therfore the partnership has more potential but whether the partnership will work well enough to be a top 10 defense in the premier league is yet to be seen.
  10. Krul 4 Distribution was poor all day, and i don't think he does enough in one on ones. IN the same way Tiote hugely put us behind the 8-ball against Blackburn I think Krul's early mistake put getting anything from the game into real doubt. Enrique 6 Put in a few decent crosses from deep areas that Carroll and Ranger got on the end of, outmuscled Milner and Tevez a few times but i can recall too many sloppy passes going forward. Taylor 6.5 Thought he and Colo backed off from Tevez too much outside the box. Can't think of too many situations where he was caught out of position or lost the ball. Coloccini 6.5 Don't think a Premier League centre back should be turning his back the way he did for their third. May not have made a difference though. Perhaps he was caught a little on his heels for Tevez's first but Carlos had got himself into a good position Fab may not have been able to prevent. Otherwise solid as usual on the ball and did get some good tackles and good interventions. Simpson 6.5 I'm struggling to think of anything he did today, which is probably the sign of a solid defensive effort. The balls he put into the box were pretty meh. Jonas 5.5 He just isn't a dangerous enough player offensively. His crosses on his left are substandard but when he cuts in on his left his shots aren't anywhere near the standard to trouble the keeper. In saying that he beautifully left Boateng on his arse 3 or 4 times during the game but proceeded not to do anything with it. Tiote 7.5 Decent game in which he passed the ball around reasonably well and won the midfield battle. Barton 7.5 Like Tiote he was comfortable retaining possession while playing CM, and worked hard enough for us to win the midfield battle. I think we lost a threat when he moved out to the right wing in which he played the majority through the centre. Routledge 7.5 Was our best player in the first half in which he was able to beat Kolarov a few times and got a few good balls in to Carroll. Didn't agree with the decision to take him off though he probably was fading. He is a fit lad though and think he had more to offer in the last 1/2 hour. Nolan 5.5 Not good enough to permanently be the second striker the club is craving right now. Considering how many headers Carroll and Ranger won today I think he will be disappointed to not have got on the end to some of them. Lost the ball in acres of space while standing on the penalty spot after a rare good ball from Jonas which was annoying. Morale and work ethic amongst the team today was great which is suppose as captain he can take some credit for. Carroll 8 Won a shiteload of headers including the one in which he scored from. Needs a full time second striker to get on the end of his knock-downs. If he can get some chemistry with someone it will be happy days on Tyneside. Sliced one or two chances from outside the box into the stands which he does more than he should. His shots from outside the box are very hit and miss which I find frustrating. Had more poor moments on the deck than we are used to today, but considering he was up against Kompany who who is a great CB he did very well. Ranger 6.5 Had a decent impact in which he definitely was more threatening up front than Nolan. Not the long term answer to be Carroll's strike partner as i feel they are too similar. Pardew 6.5 Played the formation i was calling for but Nolan up front didn't work the way I hoped it would. Sloppy first up and perhaps a quick session was in order yesterday to keep the players sharp. Didn't agree with the sub but it was a proven one throughout the season. Not sure who he had on the bench but i would have like to see a striker come on after their third. Team 7 1-3 isn't an accurate scoreline. We had plenty of the ball and the players definitely put in alot of effort today. One big mistake then the inability to quickly regroup has cost us. First 5 minutes were sloppy and we couldn't get any luck throughout the match.
  11. I don't think you have much business being a winger in the premier league when you can't go wide and put in a good cross or cut in and challenge the keeper from outside the box.
  12. Ravanelli was my favourite non Newcastle or Aussie player when I was growing up. I only liked strikers back then
  13. From a purely business point of view, we have 3 premier league quality keepers and we only need 2. I'll be shocked if we have all 3 at the start of next season. Krul and Forster would receive the highest amount of money on the market, so i'd be looking to see which one would raise more, then invest the funds into other parts of the team.
  14. Swapped Cahill for Nasri before this round of games...
  15. Surely one of the Sevilla defenders should have covered the goal for Di Maria's shot?
  16. Would be revered as a god if he went to Scotland
  17. Is anyone actually suggesting this? Well people are suggesting we should sign him permanently, so by deduction, yes they are. As far as I can see, people are saying we should sign him because of his playing ability. Nobody even mentions wages/fees. If they want too much money or he wants high wages/long contract, then no it probably won't happen. Doesn't mean I don't want him here. Posters should be criticised if they make statements like "lets sign Keane" without thinking about the consequences.
  18. They paid 12 mill, possibly more if any clauses were acted upon, only two years ago. Surely they wouldn't accept a bid any less than half that at 6 mill which is being very optimistic. That money could be waaaay better spent elsewhere.
  19. I'd rather put in a bid for Ebanks-Blake or Fletcher from Wolves than spend a similar amount of money on Robbie Keane. Would be a good 6 month loan singing though, but again I would prefer Vela or Macheda on loan if possible
  20. Should start calling himself T-Pain
