No just someone who goes into a tackle with two feet in the air knowing they aren't going to be the one that gets hurt if they clash. Not sure why him not making contact means it can't be cowardly. If you watch it back he has his feet on the ball before the other guy is anywhere near, he clearly went for the ball and had a brain fart while doing it. Nothing malicious in it at all.
-
He clearly went for and got the ball without touching the opposition player. Stop knee jerking and using cowardly, it's not.
-
Bollocks was he trying to hurt him, he didn't even touch the guy.
-
How was it cowardly. He won the ball easily and didn't even tough the man.

Someone with some common sense Did you bring sir an apple, you tart joking obviously....... Nah, he summed it up really well. Anyone saying they were there for the taking lives on a different planet. We're doing really well, this is nothing. We can soon pick points up and I don't see why we can't push on.

This, absolutely this.

Bit unfair. Pardew's approach to this game was essentially the same one he used against Chelsea - keep it tight and compact for the first half then go for the kill around the 60 minute mark. It was only really undone today by the one defensive lapse. No-one was complaining about the attacking intent on display at Chelsea; I think it's unfair to do the same for today's game. This

Fuck me I must have been watching a different game to 90% of the forum. Thought Pardew got it spot on, the difference between the two teams wad that they fell over and cheated which the ref fell for. Some of his decisions were a disgrace especially the free kick for the goal. Ben Arfa showed why he should be on the bench for most of the game. We should have got something out of that.

It'll be like weekend at Bernie's. They've oped him in the seat and Ashley will come later, tie his leg and arm to his and off they go.

I'd say that probably happens quite often. Roeder, Robson and Keegan (twice) for us for a start. It would interesting to see what impact it had on the attitudes of players who stopped playing for a manager or actively tried to get one sacked mid-season. They'll basically have to suck it up and get on with it.

Seriously, the council in charge of sunderland needs shot. They're absolutely hopeless and have been for generations, but people keep voting them in and doing f*** all about it. Shitty bargain shops, fast food/takeaways everywhere, awful bars/nightclubs and you simply can't miss a Greggs as there's about 1500 in the city center. I had to live in Sunderland for studies on/off for a few years and it's such a depressing town (and I've lived in Middlesbrough for a year). It's seriously about 30 years behind the times, but everyone here knows this of course. Particularly enjoyed this comment Mong alongs

According to the BBC Clattermole split Elmos boot with the tackle.

It will be a miracle if we don't concede before half time. -

ITV news has just put the moment up that it happened. Looks to me like Pardew is going to say he can't answer rather than answer it before being stopped. http://t.co/VXO6yAe3Ub -

Thank him for what? waiting for the s*** hit the fan to start speaking the truth? Tbf he was critical of Shepherd as well. Neil's a good guy along with one or two others. -
It wasn't a moment of brilliance imo, it was Tiote completely switching off and letting them take the free kick. He turned his back and bleated on to himself about the foul, rather than stopping the fee kick being taken. Yup. Moment of brilliance is laughable. It was a decent goal in a shit match, devoid of any skill, played between a turbo shit team and a shit team with good players with a turbo shit manager.

Oh dear. I was really depressed when I read that... and this is Wilshere. One of our more technical and talented players. Yup. Clearly his brain is used to move his legs. I would have thought that a modern day player brought up in a supposedly different mind-set wouldn't be coming out with an attitude that died out in the early nineties.
