  1. Exactly, he hasn't made a genuine howler to concede a goal, but a good premier league keeper would have saved at least a couple. He did arguably the biggest howler of the season but got away with it I like Harper, always did but he's clearly past it, can't wait for Krul to get back. Oh yea the dribbling was a farce, it's just the goals he's conceded I don't believe he could have done much more with, but he just isn't good enough for this level. When he goes down, it's reminds me of how I was taught to fall in drama at school - kind of in three stages with a twist in the middle to ensure minimum impact with the ground.
  2. With respect mate, you're talking absolute rubbish - it gets trotted out in response to the 'Cheer up Alan Shearer chant'. I agree it's tedious, but it isn't just our lot. Nah not having it. We've been doing it for years and its tosh. I recall 4-1 down in the FA Cup semi final and our fans were singing it as if it proved a point. Second only to the "Shoot!" wankers in the irritation stakes. They've been singing 'Cheer up' for years. I'd rather we sang that back than just sat in silence. I'd rather we just sang pro Newcastle sings tbh. Yea fair point, but I just don't think you can particularly have a go at our lot for it. Isn't that how most football singing 'banter' goes - one set of fans take the piss out of something/someone and the other respond in defence?
  3. Their away mob are the roughest most vicious bunch of twats in top flight football. They never show their faces in Newcastle pre or post match but there's a whole host of scumbags regularly follow them on the road. A million miles from the day trippers/ Japanese tourists and bored Dads and kids that make up a large proportion of their home crowd. Remember being on the train to Durham post match a few years back (think after they stuck 5 past us at home) and there was a bunch of rank, manc chavs behaving like muppets at one end of the carriage. Few of our lot with kids down the other end of the carriage started to take offence to it and it threatened to get a bit nasty for a bit. Luckily, we got into Durham and a load of police came onto the train, but that is uncomfortable as I've been watching us (granted I am only 23).

  5. Found out this afternoon I could have had a bloody ticket for this as one of the lads I go with has about 75 points and is working off shore. Ah well. Think we can turn them over, but will be made more difficult if Pards persists with starting 4-4-2. At the moment I'm afraid Cisse is probably the one to make way for Obertan/Marv.

  7. Glad Pards didn't drag him off at half time, could have ruined his confidence completely. Was reluctant to get forward in the first half, but that is hardly surprising given we were 2-0 down and Man U had the lion share of possession during the first 15 minutes. Got forward well in the 2nd half, would still rather see him as a left winger though. His name's too long, to fit into a song, Ferguson, Ferguson!
  8. Needs time and a confidence boost. Wish he had scored when one v one thursday, would really have helped him I think.

  10. Just got in and not read anything, but i'd imagine the general consensus is that we need to be starting games 4-3-3.
  11. Should never be deployed on the left hand side of the midfield again, but was excellent once he moved centrally and at left back.
  12. Yea but it's the way he goes down. Can almost guarantee that at least once again he will go down seemingly in agony, only to run it off within a minute or two.
  13. This super hero feature on SSN is cringeworthy.
  14. Bossed it for 60 mins. Love him in that more advanced role.
  15. The one youngster who actually looks ready to play in the first team.
  16. Was talking more about what they were saying. The days when youth teamers are manual labourers are long gone I guess. If that's what Beardsley is employed to do then I have no problem with him doing it.
  17. Embarrassing if what Carlisle says is true. I hope Pards gets hold of this information, get the impression he wouldn't be best pleased.
  18. Exactly, he'd be pretty close to the record for number of NUFC appearances.
  19. Think they've stopped doing the free programmes when they reduce the prices in the premium areas. Got one when I was in the Platinum Club for the Arsenal League Cup game two years ago, but there were none knocking around for the Blackburn FA Cup game last season.
  20. I'm slap bang in the middle of the East Stand as well. It's nice to get a better overview of the game once in a while.
  21. Hopefully we can pretty much fill the lower bowl. Must be about 35k? Expect the corners i between the Leazes/Gallowgate and the main stand will be saved as cash turnstiles.
  22. Obviously we don't know the fall story, but that does play up to the stereotype of these kids thinking that they've made it. A friend of mine is looking at doing his undergrad dissertation on something like that. Perhaps looking at the attitudes young pros have when they first break into the first team, what the actual chances of them making it etc are.
