  1. I'd hoped for a long time he would eventually become Newcastle manager. He clearly had what it took to be a manager. Still struggling to get my head around this.
  2. Steven Taylor probably knew him? He was just breaking into the first team picture in Speed's last season with us. edit: as Pilko just said.
  3. Finding this very hard to get my head around; he seemed to have so much to live for. What a player, blessed with natural talent but also incredible mental strength which makes this all the more difficult to understand. I'm stunned. RIP
  4. Who would he realistically go to in this league though? Chelsea - Cech isn't as good as he was, yet they've just spent decent money on a keeper this summer. Man Utd - Ferguson has spent big money on De Gea, so will stick by him. Man City - Have got Hart. Who I don't rate as high as others, yet can't see them changing any time soon. Arsenal - Already have Szczesny, who I think will be the best keeper in the league soon. I don't think Szczesny's all that great tbh.
  5. so it's ok for Rooney to repeatedly and violently kick at Coloccini who was on the floor, but it's not ok for Ben Arfa to question Rooney about it? Ref was rubbish today, for both teams.
  6. I think he's better than De Gea and certainly better than Szczesny. Maybe that's just my bias coming through but he has been absolutely sensational this season, no doubt we'd be a lot further down the table if it wasn't for his heroics.
  7. Another great performance from Captain Colo. Led by example, I liked how he told Ben Arfa to calm down when he was raging at Rooney for kicking out at our beloved Argentine.
  8. It wasn't dissimilar to what he got sent off for vs Montenegro. Should have at least been a yellow. suppose it was evened out when we got a penality that never should been though.
  9. what a keeper. Love him, absolutely love him.
  10. get in! Wasn't pretty and we definitely had our fair share of luck, but great tenacity and resilience shown by the players today. So proud of our lads!
  11. He's looked terrible today, confidence shot. Just what I was thinking, if this was pro evo he'd have a purple arrow pointing downwards.

    Soft spot?

Nice choice. Didnt know Stevn Fry supported Norwich City. Norwich is also a very nice place. I too quite like FC Basel for the same reasons. Also because they have Derdiyok and that other young swiss lad Shaquiri who looks quality. Two quality players who, if we qualify for europe we could possibly get. I also like the fact that King Roger Federer is a Basel fan.
  13. Where are these all playing/doing now? Obviously Carroll is bench warming at Liverpool... (From left to right): In a Liverpool casino Just returned from a loan spell at Brighton Back in the Liverpool team after a 6 month injury Occasionally plays for Burnley Involved in an exciting new storyline with a dramatic return to the Square.

    Hatred?

Stoke - play horrible football (to put it mildly) Man City - ruining the league, along with Chelsea to a lesser extent Arsenal - don't hate them but my respect for them has dropped dramatically and I feel they've completely lost their identity. They used to have a charismatic stadium and a team filled with big personalities eg Adams, Henry, Parlour. Now they just feel like some generic European club. I've gone from having a soft spot for them to feeling completely apathetic towards them. I also wish Wigan would go back to League One, where they belong. Definitely don't feel hatred towards them but they're not and never will be a PL club. Even the people of Wigan wouldn't really care if they went down.

    Soft spot?

England Norwich (friendly fans, Stephen Fry) France Marseille (nice stadium) Italy Palermo (like the kit) Spain Bilbao (respect the Basque-only policy, great youth system) Switzerland FC Basel (like the kit, name, youth system, city) Turkey Fenerbahce (like the kit)
