  1. Probably, but they're used to using their heads from age 6, so if you took their helmets away now you'd just have a killing field. Not for long. Natural selection and all that. NFL needs change at the grass roots level to take hold before they can do anything substantial and that's probably not going to happen. Players seem way more aware of the risks now, and there's a lot less head to head contact outside of line play, so it's getting better, but there will always be substantial risk. It will get to the point where people that normally chose football will choose baseball or soccer as B-More said. The talent pool for the other US sports is going to receive some tremendous athletes. NFL needs to change a lot of things at the grassroots level. Due to the concussion awareness, less kids are playing the game. Football (soccer) is the highest participated sport in the USA now and the numbers will only increase. A lot of this has to do with the health risks of playing American Football versus Association Football. I can foresee in a generation, the NFL's overall quality of play being far less due to a smaller grassroots player pool (maybe more foreign players entering the draft too). We're gonna win the f***ing World Cup. Hahaha need to make the most of the vast player pool and resources first before that happens!

  3. Im glad the club are supposedly looking elsewhere. Levy and Peace are taking the piss for wanting 14m and upwards of 30m for Townsend and Berahino respectively. Players who don't even play, yet they value them as high as an important first team player integral to the team. I'd go for Phillips from QPR as a Townsend alternative (4m). Who knows who we are going to target as a Centre Forward. Certainly not this Ramirez, too much of a risk given the predicament we are in - Maybe in the summer if we stay up.
  4. Same model as before, just a slight shift in strategy. If they shifted and are now actually targeting down and out young players who've previously showed glimpses of potential then it's more in line with that model documented in the Money Ball movie.
  5. must have had a tough day! Couldn't get anymore negative!
  6. As far as I am concerned 'beggars can't be choosers'. There has been mass displeasure regarding foreign players, yet when we look to sign domestic based players there is further displeasure. Its like moaning as a kid because you never got the Nike trainers you wanted and then when your parents pushed the boat out and got them for you, you still moaned your tits off because they weren't the exact type. At the end of the day we aren't going to get a player who is playing regularly at their clubs (Premier League based) due to the predicament we are in. Thats a fact. Andros Townsend may not be Raheem Sterling but he will improve our squad.
  7. More than Thauvin and Iberian. Agreed
  8. Townsend is the better option in the short term to keep us up. Thauvin on performances has been absolutely shocking.
  9. Pay £6m to borrow a lad who's no better than Thuavin (probably worse), I can definitely understand the opposition to that. Seriously where has the £6m been mentioned, that's absolutely mental, unless the loan fee is removed from any future fee. Still we have a player who hasn't even had a chance yet who's could very well be better than Townsend if given that chance, I'd rather just start Thauvin for a few games in a row and give him the full 90 minutes and see what he can do than spend £6m to borrow a bloke who's never done a thing at club level. What has Thauvin done to even remotely suggest that he is more effective than an England International!!!!
  10. If we are going to stay up this season (and that is all that matters) his character isn't going to help us do that.
  11. Could that mean Cabella will return to NUFC once his loan ends?
  12. Then what has Thauvin done to earn "slack" from the fans? Absolutely nothing. Can't be asserting that there are hypocrites in our support without giving an example of a fan favourite and a time when they've feigned injury like Thauvin allegedly did yesterday.
  13. Ahh but its different when your fans favourite player does it. So many hypocrites in our support. Name a fans favourite who has done what Thauvin allegedly did?
  14. Lee Charnley and Alan Carr employed him. Fat egg headed cunt!
  15. Stop fucking around and just sign Remy FFS.
  16. "the club have indicated they have no intentions in signing any new players for midfield positions because they have enough on the books already" lee ryder, 9th January 2016 WTF is Ryder talking about? Our main links has been with Shelvey and Saivet. The bloke is special! How the fuck he works in journalism but amazingly how the fuck does he keep his job!!
  17. Exactly why they have bid for him. So they can say they tried. "January is a hard market" blah blah blah.... I hope we go down.
  18. So would be an excellent player for us!! Because Palace are head and shoulder above us on the field if points tally is anything to go by.
  19. Perfect result - had we got any points they would have definitely twiddled their thumbs in the transfer window. They may still do that but hopefully a far worse predicament should give them a further kick up the arse.
  20. Colback offers far more than the only other option in Anita.
  21. Elliot Janmaat Mbemba Collocini Mbabu Colback Sissoko Wijnaldum Perez Thauvin Mitrovic Is quite clearly our strongest lineup at present. There could even be rotation between Ayoze and Sissoko as we attack down the right hand side. With Perez's movement inside create space and opportunities for Moussa to exploit. It will never happen though as it seems McClaren is going all Boro on us (from what I remember they were horrendously rigid throughout his stint there especially in the first 18 months).
