For the past 4 years since Carr became head of player recruitment, chief scout etc every deal has been done without any type of speculation leading up to it. I am hoping this is the case when it comes to appointing our new head coach especially given the rumours with respect to Carr advising Charnley on who the most suitable candidates are. I hope that we move quickly and secure whoever is going to be the coach.

Dover are dogshittttt

I've said it earlier, he ain't getting sacked. That's clear as day. He is here until the end of the 2015/16 season. That's a fact that I have on good authority. Let's just stop building our hopes up and back the players.
-
He isn't going anywhere. I don't know why we get our hopes built up that he is going.

Plenty of positives to be taken from the game. We looked more energetic, seemed better in possession of the ball and overall stronger than the second part of last season but how much of this is to do with the influx of the new players and their individual eagerness to show well (something that overtime will diminish which is when expert coaching and management takes over) rather than what has been delivered on the training ground over the summer? Still concerning that we didn't commit the required numbers forward at the appropriate times in the first half today. We only committed more in the second half because we "was" 1-0 down. Had it been 0-0 there is no way he would have told them to make more of a "fret". I will give them the benefit of the doubt but anything less than victory at Villa next week coupled with a similar type of performance will mean AP is under considerable pressure immediately.

If we finish outside the top 10 he will be sacked simply because he would have lost money that the fat man has accounted for (hence the public target of a top 10 finish). Anything above tenth Fatty is laughing as that is bonus cash IMHO.

I respect the teams who don't opt for European-inspired names. Chicago Fire S.C. is probably the best mix between traditional European football and American sports naming conventions. D.C. United (wasn't a union between two clubs) Real Salt Lake (not royally endowed) Sporting Kansas City FC Dallas/Seattle Sounders FC/Toronto FC/Vancouver Whitecaps FC (FC doesn't stand for Football Club) FC does in fact stand for Football Club.

What does it matter how much it is. None of it is being spent anyway.... just going into the fat mans pocket. -
Its about minutes on the field in the time he is out on loan. Rather him go to Carlisle and play every week than go to a stronger team and not play as much. Plus playing in a struggling team won't do him any harm.... All we should be bothered about is him returning to us in January after playing lots of games.

You don't feel we've done a good job in getting players here in recent times? Obviously we need more, but I find this constant criticism of our transfer dealings extremely weird. We almost got relegated due to our transfer policy last season. Pardew's inadequate approach almost got us relegated

All the research that is out there states that the game is evolving all the time and has certainly evolved since the time JFK was most prominent as a Football Manager (1992–1999 Wimbledon). Unless this bloke has surrounded himself in coach education since his heart condition of 2009 (which I doubt), then we are in massive trouble. Just watching his interview on SSN he has no thought process that fills anyone with any confidence, FFS he can't even grasp the correct grammer and terminology of his native tongue. I hope that he has been brought in to force the hand of Pardew, my guess is that this is to undermine Pardew. Maybe Pardew has had disagreements regarding the purchase of Andy Carroll and Darren Bent subsequently MA has taken a massive grudge thus employed this clown to undermine Pardew thus forcing him out........
-
Unfortunately we are going down with this clown in charge. Naturally in the North East we are pessimistic people. That must stem from the history of the area...... But this clown makes the darkest of days look like the end of the world. Can't wait for Sammy and Shola up top in the Championship with this twat in charge....

Every negative performance moving fwd. is going to pile even more pressure on him. This is a tough pill to swallow given how he moaned like fuck to get his reinforcements over his bastard line in January. I wonder if Deeka and Fatty will take into account the lack of improvement since backing him more than anyone else in Jan. Hopefully they do and peddle this twat.

3-5-2/3-4-3 Its the future and there is no avoiding it.

I currently work for an academy outside England and have done for over 5 years now. In the country I work in, at the Academy the Small Sided format that is now implemented in England at the youngest ages has been in use for a number of years. We use similar formations at Small Sided but ultimately transition to a more traditional 4-2-3-1/4-3-3/4-4-2 once the boys reach 11v11. Typically from my professional experience (using 8v8 as an example), countries who have been using small sided as a development tool for a number of years play 2-3-2 or 2-4-1 at the youngest ages as ultimately this forces your defenders into a lot of 1v1 defending situations which accelerates development plus the shape is far more conducive to the highest level as when in possession it forces the two centre half to split this bringing the GK into play as an extra player when in possession of the ball. This promotes the development of playing out from the back. Secondly the RM and LM in this shape learn how to become a modern day full back as well as a natural winger due to the responsibilities placed upon this without cover players behind them. All this is done with development in mind. Obviously if we were coaching at youth level to win games then playing 3 at the back gives you a better chance of doing that without losing too much impetus when attacking in the final third. Therefore I wouldn't read too much into what formations they are using at youth level in England, as per normal we are miles behind the rest of the world in terms of youth development as the win is still more important in England at youth level than the individual technical and tactical development of our youngest. Until that mentality changes England will always be behind the rest of the world in terms of producing true world class talent. -
Why accommodate him when his performances haven't been up to par never mind above par? Which performances? Blackburn and Brighton...... Ben Arfa is a talent but his past two performances don't warrant a place in the team. Until he is motivated to use his ability to elevate the performance of the team then their is no point in him being in it. A player of his obvious ability should be grabbing the games by the scruff of the neck and having much more impact that he has had in the past two games.

If you look closely at both FA's education structure in terms of the way they educate coaches. The Scots structure is far more geared towards the developing coach. More modules etc to take, with information being given in a lot smaller chunks rather than the FA's approach to doing three levels before you have your UEFA A. Three levels being Level2-UefaB-UefaA. Only recently has the FA took the Scot's approach in terms of introducing the youth modules.
-
Because the FA's coach Education is stuck in the 1980's. We don't produce coaches just like we don't produce technically gifted players.

The OTT reaction saying that he should be replaced is ridiculous. Just like when he came, just like when we were beaten by West Brom at home before Xmas he will be judged at the end of the season. For me the mistake was the approach to the game. Very relaxed is fine but when the players mood and energy match the approach then that was the issue for me. No intensity or drive in them tonight. Only thing Pardew can be criticized with is in hindsight our approach to the game.

Brighton were very poor. They lacked imagination and adventure considering they were the home team without any pressure on them. They were playing at home to boot. We were so sloppy in everything we did. From the start we never pressed the ball with the intensity needed considering Brighton are meant to be the Swansea of the Championship in relation of to the alleged way they pass and move the ball. This surely should have been a must considering the more pressure there is on the ball the harder it is to pass short and move. Pressure takes away a players thinking time. In possession the intensity matched the intensity without the ball. Slow and sloppy. Too many times we didn't move the ball quickly enough with our support to each other so slow it was unbelievable. This resulted us playing every thing in front of them as they were easily able to regroup due to the speed at which we passed to each other. I think the players need to look at themselves, they are the ones who are responsible for there application and attitude once they step over those white lines. Danny Simpson pulling out of the challenge which resulted in them breaking and scoring summed up the whole starting 11's attitude and approach to this game. Let down by the players and the this group were even taken to Tenerife as a reward for their hardwork this season. Maybe the fans should have been taken. -
Def. pulled out of that tackle.
-
All good stuff. Your def. working towards the right path. My only advice is, don't stay too long on a particular topic. In my experience I've grown to learn that kids are a lot more intelligent than at times we give them credit for. Draw up a 10 week development plan and stick to the topics on that plan. An example for U9's might be: Wk1 - First touch Wk2 - First touch Wk3 - Moves Wk4 - Moves Wk5- Changes of Direction Wk6- Changes of Direction Wk7- Turning Wk8- Turning Wk9- Finishing/Striking the ball Wk10- Finishing/Striking the ball Good luck.
