  1. Its a massive pity that we are gonna spew money on someone who is shit..........
  2. Agree with that, Wise has done his job well. Brought some good younsters into the club and raised the profile of the youth team. On the 1st team transfers..... Bassong Colo Jonas Xisco as we didnt need a striker, Gonzalez due to being injured ....... by all accounts Guthrie was a Keegan signing . All the blame has to be pointed at Ashley for firstly re-appointing KK (when we could have got a top manager in who would have worked well in the current structure) and secondly not replacing Chris Mort properly. Basically if we hadnt of appointed KK we wouldnt be in this turmoil. Love KK but he has let us down big time, took the huff when a bigger man would of puffed his chest out and got on with it until the end of the season. KK would have known the structure prior to signing that contract last January.
  3. How do we know that this Mbia is any good?? Its obvious that they havent got a clue who they want to buy. Its embarrasing but I will support the club no matter who is manager, chairman, director of football or owner. I will still be going to SJP when Ashley and his cronies are long gone.
  4. With all the money that Man City are spending and with there youth team recently winning the Youth Cup I would go to them and raid them for their talented young players. I'll be honest I am only aware of the well known ones such as Johnson, Sturridge etc but am sure if we watched their reserves we could pick up a few players with big potential. Only problem is; do we have the coaching staff at first team level to develop that talent?
  5. And what would that achieve??? No one wants to buy the club in this economic climate. no one wanted to buy at ashley's selling price, big difference He aint gonna reduce the price he is after for the club and there is nothing that we as fans can do about it. He has took the club off the market because he cant get the price he is after and all the protesting in the world wont make a difference. True fans support the club and give the players the backing they need. Confidence is at a all time low and mass protests against the board isnt going to have a positive effect. After all protesting makes the the club look like a laughing stock.

  7. Give yourself a shake ffs.... Shouting for the manager out just because he has dropped a player you like. Thats ridiculous. If you look at Jonas performances after the Portsmouth game he has been average at best. I dont like Duff but he has been slightly more productive than Jonas over the past few games, if you take the last 2 games (West Ham and Hull) he actually provided more of an end product that Jonas (Cross for Carroll goal and ball for Owen to spew against Hull). Get behind the team and stop throwing imature hissy fits just because 1 player isnt playing.
  8. I dont know why everyone is so negative towards this bloke. After all after the portsmouth game you were all licking his arse stating how much of a good job he has done etc etc etc. Now after a poor xmas period (which we never fucking do well in anyway) you want him out. From reading this forum for a while everytime we go through a bad patch the majority of regular posters want the manager out. Joe Kinnear has done a decent job considering the state that the club is in. Had we won those tight games in which we drew we would be level on points with Wigan who by all accounts are having a great season. What we need is a little bit of stability and if Kinnear is going to give us a few seasons of mid table consolodation while putting in place a quality scouting network and continue to develop our academy then so be it. The last thing we need is to get rid of him and bring in another high paid so called savoiur only to be in the same position. The problems we have are not going be fixed by changing the manager, its much deeper than that. If it wasnt for Kinnear lets face it we would probably be bottom of the league right now, but with Kinnear we are in 11th position. The problem with this forum is that the majority of posters only know Newcastle United from KK first reign in charge and therefore havent seen or experienced the dark days of the eighties and early ninety's where we were really shit. I am not saying this position that the club finds itself in is acceptable but it could be a lot worse....look at Leeds United. Kinnear done miracles at Wimbledon, give him a chance to change us around..... we may be suprised
  9. Rather him than Kinnear... Seconded. I hope the £6m transfer kitty is untrue because Mike Ashley isn't going to get the fans back onside if it is. Its not about how much you spend, its about who you actually spend the money on. Given that I agree 6million isnt enough to strengthen all the areas that we need to strengthen. Mike Ashley has a lot to answer for if he is only releasing that amount of money. I am quite happy with being heavily linked with Kyle Naughton and Michael Kightley, especially Kightley as he will bring something different to our midfield. Him and Jonas on either wing will be good enough. The other areas I feel we have to focus on is central midfield. The reason why our defence becomes under so much pressure is because our two so called key players have absolute no ball retention thus allowing the opposition to continue to put pressure on our back 4. No back 4 in the world could cope with that....... As for Wise doing the deals, this isnt a bad thing and is only seen as a bad thing amongst fans as he forced Kev out. Wise bought us some good players in the summer especially Bassong so his scouting network isnt that bad....... I'd much rather him sign the players in the areas that Kinnear wants than JFK looking to buy the next John Scales from Mansfield.
  10. 1st things first, I dont want to see Shay Given leave Newcastle United. But if he does as it looks like he is going to, leaving wont be as bad imo as when, Gascoigne, Waddle, Beardsley et al left the club back in the day. Back then we no pulling power whatsoever in order to attract good players, the stadium was a mess, the board an even bigger mess than it is today and therefore it was harder for the club to attract the right kind of player. Today even though the club is in a mess both on and off the field we still have more of an attraction than back in the 80's. In the short term we dont need to replace Given as we have Harper and to a lesser extent promising players in Krul and Forster but when we do we will (hopefully) be in a better position to attract the right kind of replacement. As much as I dislike Ashley, I think his blueprint for the club is perfect on paper. All he needs to do now is get the right people in to put that plan into practice. He needs to get Mort back and for Mort to employ the right people to take this club forward. We dont need to spend millions on superstars we need to invest in players who can grow as the club grows. Like Sir Bobby did to a certain extent with some of his purchases. Get the millions for Shay and invest that in other areas of the team...... Shay Given has been a great servant for this club but he aint going to keep us in this league if he stays, investing the money from his transfer will go a long way to deciding our future, if invested wisely we will stay up.
  11. Jesus does people not actually know that Newcastle United play in stripes......
  12. I would be suprised if they brought Paddy Kenny if Shay was to leave. They have a replacement (good but nowhere near the class of Given) in Steve Harper and good up and coming Goalkeepers with good potential in Krul and Forster. If Kenny is to come in to this Football Club it will really cement my opinion that Kinnear won't be able to produce or attract the right type of player that I feel we need. Not expecting superstars or multi-million pound signings just players that will improve us. Paddy Kenny is no better than Shay's back up therefore no point in signing him. Plus he would stagnate the potential development of Krul and Forster.
  13. I dont normally post on here but to say play Lua Lua in Centre Midfield is absolute stupid.... 1 - He is no Centre Midfielder 2 - If he was who would sit and defend? He is a winger through and through, prob (and I have only seen him in training and playing for the reserves) a winger with no end product like Zog and Jonas.... before u speak think in future PIL(O)K He can play centre mid. Every time he's come off the bench for the first team, it was at centre-mid. He's played there numerous times for the reserves and U18's. Perhaps check your facts first, Chris Babbleboobhead? I think you've just lost this debate with your above comment.......
  14. No, I didn't go. I'd seen him play a couple of times for Depor and in a friendly for Argentina and yes he looked good. He's had a few good games this season, but otherwise I am disgusted that we have paid so much for such a poor defender. He can't jump, can't head a ball, can just about tackle and spends the majority of a game either on his arse or in the midst of an attacking player. Fortunately, I think Kinnear sees this and it looks as though we are looking for a new centre-back. If only Upson was a realistic target ... Couldnt agree more with this...... the kid is slower than bastard Darren Peacock fFs..... I was at Wigan and there today and been there all season... good in patches but not worth the money we paid for him. Some ppl who post on here dont have a scooby dooo

  16. Stop talking absolute tosh......... Houlliers team at Lyon played dynamic attacking football, packed with players full of pace....he brought Benzema into the 1st team as well helping take them to another level after Le Guen left.....and look what he has done at Rangers and PSG (????).... I get the impression whoever we are linked with you will pick all the negative points out of that person.....
  17. Forget about changing the manager and get behind the one we have. Give the bloke a chance.
  18. 100% right imo..... I dont post often and just tend to read the posts.... it would be nice to know how many of the regular posters actually stood on the Gallowgate when David Kelly rifled in a half volley v Portsmouth to give us a 1-0 win in 91/92 season and virtually help save this club from doing a Leeds and falling into the old Division 3. The days before that were the bad days....a ramshackle of a ground....no internationals and a dream of being in the top flight. Those were the SHIT days. Get off Sam's back and let him do what he came to do, he says its a 3 year job so give him the length of his contract. The top 2 teams in this country constantly over the past 15 years have been Man U and Arsenal. Both clubs have had stability....lets give Sam a chance to prove the negative doom mongers amongst you wrong.
  19. What you have said is 100% right... we are a mid table side with a fan base to rival the top clubs. Its no good sacking manager after manager because we are not in the top 6 straight away or playing fluently straight away. If we were that good Allardyce would not have been required to be appointed in the 1st place. Lets give the guy the length of his contract and see what happens, I say right off this season because lets face it if we do sack him it will be a right off anyway. He has made some mistakes in his short time here but hasnt Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, Sir Alex at Man Yoo and Rafa at Liverpool?? Some of his signing leave a lot to be desired but give the bloke some slack and let him get on with it. After all Sir Alex needed 5yrs at Man Yoo before winning the FA Cup never mind the league and he certainly bought some dross in that 5yrs (Mike Phelan anyone??).
