Duff's not strong enough to play in the centre of the park and hasn't proved that he can keep a hold of the ball consistantly. Apart from his corners Geremi had a good game against Pompey. First rule of managment, don't fix it if..............? Should we be hell bent on playing someone instead of Geremi then Emre (should he be fit) would be the prime candidate. The formation was how it should be changed and not how we should start, as it said int he text. Geremi will start yes, but he ran out of steam early on yesterday and he was our worst player v pompey.. Apoligies, didn't read the text. Can't agree that Geremi was our worst player. I can't think of anything he did wrong (apart from corners). Well it was between him and Enrique I reckon, but motley its Geremi's lack of pace that stands out, he may just be knacked though he is no spring chicken after all and I just feel putting Smith on is a waste of time unless we have a lead by that point. Duff may not be a tough tackler but with Emre injured who else can play there ? Dare i say N'Zogbia. I'd probably play Milner in there over Duff, in fact i'd like see what he can do. I thought Enrique had a good game too. We are definately not on the same wavelength Enrique put it straight out the pitch 3 times in a row but was still very solid defensively and had a better game than Beye. Milner in Geremi's role could be worth a go, offers something different.

Even if these rumours could all be a giant sack of shite, I think its very encouraging to see us broadening our horizons and looking for the next big thing rather than go for the usual bog-standard top 4 reject.

Won lots of challenges and passed the ball around well, far from our worst player yesterday.

James was jammy, rather than bad miss. Owen did well to react the way he did imo.

Worked hard, but his decision-making at crucial times let him down. He should have pulled it back at that instant where James saved at his near post, granted. Nonetheless played well I thought.

What? Looks great on the ball as always and has made a couple of decent tackles but his long balls have been shocking.

I agree with you somewhat but Zog could be a class player imo and it would be in our best interest to hold onto him. By not playing the lad it seems we're just pushing him further out the door in my eyes. KK might have something in my sleeve though, I dunno.

Maybe stating the obvious here but he has no role whilst we have a 433 formation. Why's Duff on the bench instead of him then when they both play in the same position? Duff is more hard working and has played in a 433 formation before...? Maybe i dunno. Zog is an out and out winger. Zog's put in some solid CM performances for us this season though, Duff hasn't. And if you don't want him in the middle, bring him on for a striker and play him on a flank. Granted you could do the same with Duff but Zog's pace, delivery and ability to beat a man is just so much better than Duff atm.
