  1. Honestly Which were his car crash performances? Liverpool at a push.... I can't remember any winger giving him a really tough time. What's his name again? You know, that Man Utd player ... OH, you mean the one that got a tough time off Enrique so switched flanks and pissed on Carr instead?

    Martins

No one's debating the fact that there's no undroppable players in our squad with the exception of one or two players. Martins is virtually our only pacey player and I think people don't see the sense in subbing our biggest offensive threat at the time of game where he truly excels - running at tired legs and causing even more mayhem. The only one who's close to Martins in terms of pace and threat is Zog and imo if you're to bring Martins off, he is the only player who should be coming on.

Martins should only come off for Zog if not at all imo.

Admittedly I was somewhat unsure of King Kev's appointment, was hoping for someone in the vein of Houllier or Deschamps. I only started supporting NUFC on the back of the Keegan days so I only vaguely knew of his championship battle with Man Utd amongst his ties with the club. But since that Stoke match, my head and heart has been completely captivated. There was something really magical about that night imo when he walked into St James to a brilliant ovation and watched with a gleaming smile as we bummed them 4-1 and his first interview really pulled some strings. I've been behind him 100% of the way since then. He just comes across as such a legendary bloke and in hindsight I'd much rather have Kev back over some moody European manager. Honestly can't wait to see what he does with the team next year, we are going places for sure
  5. I'd be happy to fill it out if I'd ever read the Mag
  6. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/shared/spl/hi/football/squad_selector/team_of_the_week/html/ss_team.stm Beye and Owen both in Garth Crooks' team of the week
  7. I think he should be given a go where Geremi's playing between now and the end.
  8. Would steer clear of Pennant but get SWP or Lennon in by all means.
  9. That was paper that was on the chairs to be held up before the game kicked off, I saw a few paper planes. Saw plenty of chips being thrown at a Sunderland player at a throw in
  10. Comfortable tbh, very pleased. Wasn't a brilliant performance but f****** chuffed nonetheless, defended well throughout and were great going forward in patches. Harper - 7 Beye - 8 Taylor - 7 Faye - 7 Enrique - 7 Geremi - 6 Butt - 8 Barton - 7 Viduka - 6 Owen - 8 Martins - 7 Good cameos from all 3 subs, even Duff Edgar was as calm as anything, Carroll put himself about well and Duff looked lively with a few good passes and runs. Howay the lads and howay mathematical safety
  11. From the skysports live commentary, what game was he watching? The two commentators both agreed Enrique's class, dunno where this rubbish is coming from.
  12. He's been great today. Got forward well and made some fucking ace tackles.
  13. They're 2-0 down in a huge game on the back of an awful 1st half performance, what were you expecting? It's just a spell we need to see through and we're doing so pretty comfortably at the moment. What? This is Newcastle Sunderland ffs. I´m expecting us to display our superiority, not sit back and soak up pressure. This second half reminds me of Allardyce, or am I not allowed to criticise the team now King Kev´s in charge? I didn't say that at all - Sunderland were always going to have a pop at us after the break, with an earful from Keane at half time and relegation still on the cards what else would you expect? We've defended very capably in their best spell of the match - surely that deserves some credit? Our defending deserves some credit, although Sunlun have had some decent chances. Personally, I don´t think much of this Sunderland team and would have thought attacking them in the second half would have been a better way to defend our lead.. I agree with what you're saying but we're still 2-0 up and I think we'll get another. Might not be the best or attractive way of winning the match but against a poor Sunderland side perhaps its better just to smash them on the break.

  15. Lovely move. Oba should have scored. Jones goes close down the other end

  17. Keep it as it is for about 10 more mins and they'll run out of steam.
  18. There was this one moment early in the game where we under a bit of pressure, won the ball back and just passed it along the deck out of our area as smooth and assured as anything. Made me giddy inside Barton, Owen, Butt and the defense have been superb. Just hope we can build on this cracking start and give the cocks a good kicking
  19. I don't think it was a shot tbh. Good game this, quite even.
