Most of them are big names rather than being that good anymore. Mata, Silva, Banega, Maduro and Albiol are all very promising young players, wouldn't say they're big names past their sell by date.

They've won a cup this season as well, would be crazy going down with the Spanish Cup in the cabinet.

mackems.gif we've lost out for a player who many thought was too good for us anyway to a team who have been better than us in the past 5 years and have european football, We Dont. we were on the verge of relegation 5 games ago, now the backroom staff are s**** for not managing to entice moderic to sign. we may not have got him, but it shiows our intent, and there are plenty more good players out there. Agree, hardly the fault of Wise, Jimenez etc that Modric has a twat for an agent and Spurs are a slightly more attractive proposition than us at the moment. At least see who we bring in during the summer before slamming the new set-up.

IF... Don't see why people are so keen to write him off. At least see what KK thinks and does with him, a player like him would flourish in a 4-3-3. Should be given a go for sure.

If Emre gets his act together we've got a creative midfielder as good and more proven than the likes of Modric imo.

Apparently its the fee, not the wage. I'm not sure that we'd provide all the hospitality, then offer £6m less than the apparent January asking price. It is just one paper after all. Ah right.

Wages shouldn't be a stumbling block with our financial backing imo. If Modric simply doesn't want to come then fair enough but offering £10-20 mill for him and then not giving him a sufficient wage just sounds stupid.
