Oh fucking hell, I really hope we get this guy.
-
Reckon what madras said on the last page might be true: we might hear some leaks re: news on Sunday afternoon for a deal being sorted Mon/Tues. Hope so, anyway.
-
Maybe the new owners have asked Ashley to "get deals started" for those two, as in if there's a deal in the middle of being arranged as the club changes hands then that'll do?
-
Is this a worry or nothing? Urged by who? Tbh I missed it first time, too. Ah hah. But it's bullshit, no? What 'injection of capital' would be provided by flogging either or both of these players considering the money is received in installments anyway? I don't know. It's a curious article, truth be told. Like I say above, perhaps the new buyer has said they're happy to bid £Xm but only if the likes of Martins and Coloccini are already off the books - ie not their problem. Surely they'd choose more/other players and not just those two? Surely the likes of Duff, Nolan, Xisco, Ameobi and Barton would concern them as well?
-
I didn't mean in terms of the players going; I couldn't give a fuck. I meant in terms of having to raise some funds 'to smooth the sale of the club'. It could suggest that they don't have a lot on top of the £80m, perhaps?

If Shearer is the first choice of the Malaysians and what they're saying about him not wanting to rebuild around either is true, then no, I don't think that is a worry.
-
Who do you support? Newcastle United. By 'you guys' I refer to everyone who instantly puts an Owen v Martins debate in at any given opportunity. Ronaldo, then.
-
Sturridge and Turnbull... nailed on to try and make the CL english players quota a bit easier for them

Oh, for gods sake. Please just hurry up and buy it!
-
How on earth has that happened?
-
Of course, no-one ever remembers that it was Keegan who made him captain and everyone after him, Kinnear, Hughton and Shearer didn't have enough sense to take the armband off him and give it to someone who at least looked like they gave a shit Not as bitter as some re: his goalscoring etc, but as a captain he was a fucking shambles
-
He's a better striker than fullback, as proven last season with Sheff United
-
I don't think that he said he wanted him to do well (he might, I can't speak for him) but he said he thinks he will do, in a team with better service. Learn to read Dreseden has said or strongly implied in the past that he wants Owen to do well in the future, nowt to do with reading How does it make his loyalty as a Newcastle fan questionable, anyway? Not everyone is as bitter and biased as you are, you know. As much as Owen has been poor in a poor team (both factors imo) why should he not be allowed to wish him well? Yes, he's been on huge wages but Shepherd was more than happy to give them to him. The man who managed to up the Luque price by about £9m and offered him crazy money. I'm not his greatest fan in all honesty either but I don't hate him to the degree that you do, and you need to learn to respect that other people aren't as hate-filled as you are.

Over the three seasons he's been at the club, he's missed enough games to niggly groin strains and similar injuries to be classed as injury prone... especially this last season. Take your fan boy specs off for a minute
-
Erm, last season. Excellent, how you try and ignore that to make your argument more favourable.

Well, was it not more of a case of they were being shown the facilities and the players happened to be there? Hey, you asked me to be more positive! I'm still very positive about this, honestly. I do think that if they wanted "the works" in terms of a tour, then they'd probably find it difficult to avoid all of the players. If they really have done the due diligence, made the bid and liked what they saw on the tour then surely signing that sales and purcahse agreement can't be too far down the line? Yeah, being serious for a moment you'd think they'd only be impressed by a tour around the facilities. They're the only thing we've got that are truly top class and need little or no work. Agreed. Probably trying to sell it at the angle of "everything is in place in terms of an infrastructure"...

I fucking hope so. Qatar, Malaysia, hell I'd take a buyer from Angola as things stand. Get it done.
