Aye, same here.

Hughton might have a better offer from elsewhere on the back of this form. I personally think that Shearer would convince him to stay on in a senior coaching role or something. I get the impression that Hughton really likes it here. Although who knows, he may well get a better offer; but I don't see him getting an offer as a full time manager. He may well get offered other coaching roles but I don't see them being at anywhere neccessarily bigger than here.

As much as Hughton is doing a cracking job, Shearer still needs to come in as soon as Moat buys the club. Purely because if (or probably when) we go up, Hughton isn't going to be a long term appointment, is he? Shearer needs all the experience he can get, and he might as well get it in this league. He should be fine with Dowie, Hughton etc all supporting him. If we stick with Hughton till the end of the season, win promotion and then stick Shearer in, he still has barely any managerial experience. Putting Shearer in ASAP would also allow him to start shaping the squad a little in January.

That's what I thought, Hansen going senile seemingly

cracking effort that!

Babayaro and Emre are still two weeks away.

I liked how the ball hit someone in the box near the end and they said "and was that a handball from Steven Taylor?!" not a single game can go by without them mentioning a possible handball from him... Although if he stopped fucking pointing all the time then maybe the ball would have a harder job finding his hands?

Ah yes, I do remember now actually. That was six of one and half a dozen of the other in all honesty, Priskin had a canny hold on Colo's neck. Another ref and we'd have got the freekick. There was plenty of cover there anyway, they didn't have enough numbers forward to trouble us.

lots of people tend to just read the papers or listen to Lawro... very few of them actually seem to watch him That awful amateuristic miskick early on in this game was nothing to do with either the press or Lawro I don't even remember a miskick from him. Honestly, apart from Enrique's slightly wayward distribution, the entire back four were very comfortable today, and only someone who's blind or stupid would say otherwise. Coloccini never looked in danger for one second

How would "sources close to Keegan" know the length of time he has to wait, though? Surely "sources close to the LMA" would know that kind of sensitive information, and Keegan won't be allowed to tell anyone as it's a matter for the courts?

Brendan Rodgers is apparently in hospital because GG chinned him

Geremi at White Hart Lane.

Did anyone hear MOTD last night - Linekar: "Well then, Fernando Torres saying that signed match ball will get pride of place in his home - hope it's safe there..."

Nolan could easily get 1 in 3 in this league tbh when you look at some of the dross we have to play
-
So... we have a Marlon, we have a Ricky (if you listen to Bobby Moncur talking about our left-back), we just need someone from Coronation Street to complete the trilogy. Butt does look a bit like Norris Cole tbh.

Isn't it only a retake in that case if the keeper saves it? I don't know, although obviously the keeper would probs get booked if it was scored and then a retake was ordered. Mosley could clear this up maybe?
-
Surely a retake for Hilario going off his line there ffs
-
Peter Cheque. how unlike him
-
aren't you that little kid who went on the pitch and shoved his knob into brendan rodgers ear?
-
Steve Harper's man leopard pounce of a save. Nice.
-
without the safety wink there people would be queuing up to shove shit through your letterbox

Nicky Butt was doing the good old five a side trick of playing the ball off the boards (or in his case another player) and managing to find a black and white shirt whilst doing so. My favourite five a side trick is actually doing a massive fart when I'm in goal, just before it's time to swap keepers.

He already knows how to use his strength and body properly too, he shields the ball so unbelivably well with his body for someone so young.
