Great job he's done of rebuilding their confidence with a few weeks away in Dubai then on the evidence of today. Whole performance, set up and subs were just mental today and you ignoring that is the "agenda driven" thing, tossing yourself off over Howe because he finally managed to get some good results and refusing to acknowledge that he made an arse of it today.

I've posted on several occasions about how he's learned from some of the shit decisions he made pre-transfer window and that he's clearly better than I had him down as, despite not being as convinced as others seem to be. I'll definitely stop supporting the club I've followed my whole life because someone with your astute musings on football thinks I'm not what the club needs too, great point and definitely worth you taking the time to write it out.

Having watched the full podcast, Treacy comes across like a self-entitled sort who seems to think that any manager who didn't make it their personal mission to sort out his various problems was no good. Even Parky who is usually incredibly jovial gets pissed off at one point and says "At Championship level you can't expect a manager to be taking responsibility for all your problems, you can only expect so much support when there's a full squad of 20 lads".

You've got Premier League legends all owa the shop there, arguably the best two fullbacks the league has seen, titles galore, Gerrard carrying his club team on his back, a generational talent in Rooney and a captain with quality pissing out of every pore in Beckham. Question mark on the goalkeeper but otherwise 7 or 8 of these players in your side and getting to R16/QF and looking lacklustre the whole way through is insane mismanagement. Tell me how many current England players would get in that side if you plonked them as they are now back 16 years, honestly? I think you can make arguments for Pickford being in, Kane over Owen and maybe Sterling for J.Cole but otherwise, I'm not having it. Southgate's done a fantastic job with a far inferior group of players and we've come close twice, I just don't understand how the 2020-2022 crop are suddenly all world beaters and the names listed above all rehashed as duds.

Supposedly 2004-2010 was "golden generation" and yet we shit out and looked absolutely chod at every single tournament (and didn't even qualify in '08). Southgate does have certain limitations but the way he's overhauled the national team setup and got us to a point where we're genuinely competing for trophies is deserving of massive credit IMO. I think it's fair enough to debate that he's maybe negative and I really hate the obsession with Mount that he has, but to say you don't rate him at all despite the results we've had versus years of chronic underachievement (with arguably way better players) is just plain daft.
