Gouffran is a shuttler, in that he does half arsed shuttle runs down his side of the pitch for most of the minutes we have to suffer watching the wretched cunt.
For me our pre-season should be:
- Kickabout with local side
- Three-game tournament in Europe against at least one Europa League/CL-level side, otherwise top division sides at least
- Two games against higher-end Championship teams
- CL team at home the week before kick-off
Aye. The home game which comes a week before the season starts usually has 80-90% of the starting team on the field, and everyone always wonders why it looks disjointed and rusty as fuck. Mainly because said players haven't kicked a ball between themselves for more than twenty minutes previously.
So it looks like we're using the same strategy in terms of "sticking to targets on the list" but we're actually willing to spend some money now.
If Mbemba follows in the next week or two, I'd say we're a quality wide player away from what you'd call a very good transfer window of incomings. Adding a utility defender/midfielder and a few Perez style young squad players would be a bonus.
Agree, we need a winger, and then a utility player in the style of R.Taylor but obviously way better. After that if we added a few more in the Perez mould that'd be even better.
