  1. Can't be arsed with match ratings but in a nutshell everyone was absolute dump apart from Harper. Gutierrez and Williamson stood out as being spectacularly shite.
  2. They will score first imo but I'm sticking with 1-3 to us. I think Best will get one tonight.
  3. Must be taking a full-time step into being a perv. I make this assumption on his moustache.
  4. Just the one win last night on Celtic -1 Tonight Barca-2 at odds of 2/1 (£5) Newcastle to win at odds of 3/1 (£2.50) Fulham to score first and fail to win at odds of 9/2 (£2.50)
  5. Good start for me. The end result will be the same as usual like.
  6. Once again, decided to go low money spread. West Brom, Sunderland DNB - £1 Celtic-1 - £2 Middlesbrough, Watford, Chesterfield - £1 Arsenal, Cardiff, Charlton, Southampton - £2
  7. Pardew seems to have the target for stopping up as 35 points. If we call that 36 points to negate any goal difference that may occur in the standings at 35, that is two more wins from fifteen. I personally thought 39 points and that's three wins from fifteen. It's a gamble, but nowhere near as big a one as 09 was. I still think we'll be areet, albiet lower down the table than we'd be had we kept Carroll.
  8. The only thing that was making me even the slightest bit inclined to side with Carroll on this was the fact we'd given him a flat out 'no' to a new contract. Now that it's come out we offered to renegotiate it at the end of the season (about 8 months into a 5 and a half year deal - which in my opinion is very reasonable) then I have no sympathy for Carroll at all and wish him abject failure for the bin dippers.
  9. Let's give hime more than 30 minutes, aye? I will do, however my opinion is that we'll hear nothing of the sort, because what Pardew has said seems reasonable to me.
  10. There's no way that the sheer fact Ashley/Pardew/etc 'considered' the £35m bid was enough to turn him from wanting to spend ten years here to wanting out asap in the space of hours, for christs sake. The story Pardew has told there completely checks out, and how on earth can he tell bare-faced lies anyway? Carroll would come out and dispute those quotes if they were untrue.
  11. As much as it is a risk selling Carroll now without replacing him, those comparing it to January 2009 must surely realise it is a far smaller risk. We are a maximum of three wins away from safety. We've won games without Carroll this season already.

    Alan Pardew

Every time I read an article that tells us 'Mike' has said something I can't help but wish it was our Mike saying it. I'd believe it then.
  13. If what Pardew is saying is correct then I can't blame him or Ashley at all for accepting the offer. However, I do think that they could maybe have given him a date in the not so distant future (end of 2011/12?) where his contract would be renegotiated.
  14. The best bit is we now have the same set of strikers as we had this time last season (in the Championship) but minus Carroll.
  15. One thing we know about our current side is that they dig in when faced with adversity. We'll grind out a 1-3 win.
  16. Hope you break your legs and have to retire, Andy. You are a sad indicment of the modern footballer - a greedy mercenary with a moral compass that points south.
  17. It looks like we've tried though so it's areet.
  18. Why delude yourselves? No players are coming in.
  19. Where have we heard all this 'frantic activity' shit before?
