First off, Sissoko, Perez, Mitrovic, Wijnaldum, Janmaat, Krul, Coloccini, Thauvin and Cisse will be out of the door. Then it's 50/50 whether Anita, Mbemba, De Jong, Tiote have to stay. I'm not convinced they'll have buyers. That leaves us with Darlow, Elliot, Lascelles, Dummett, Haidara, Williamson, Taylor, Colback, Aarons, Ameobi, Obertan, Gouffran and Armstrong.

That's such an easy excuse. It's true, though. As I say, he still deserves blame for having Thauvin, Cabella, Riviere etc on those lists to begin with.

Thing is, we don't know how far down the list these were. Especially with a tight-fisted Ashley. Having said that, almost all recent signings have been shocking and he deserves a chunk of the blame.
