If Di Maria goes to PSG, that money has effectively gone on Depay, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger. They've done very well with that, their squad is looking lush.
The way people are reacting, you'd think he's Andy Carroll. He's arguably the world's best 20-year-old, even if he needs to vastly improve his finishing. The fee isn't THAT minging, £35-40m would be about right.
Our stadium seems to convince most players to sign, so hopefully it'll win his dad over too. If it's only him holding back the deal, I reckon we'll be ok.
The wide spectrum of players who've excelled in Holland just proves that we should judge each player individually, on their own set of strengths and weaknesses. Another positive of Wijnaldum is that, as captain, he's a leader. We're desperately lacking in on-pitch leaders and I'd not be surprised if McClaren makes him captain.
Ahhh man I didn't think he was fat at NUFC but he clearly is now.
But I still maintain that, if this club had had a professional coaching set-up, it wouldn't have went wrong for him.
Delph says he's not going to Man City:
"I'm aware there has been intense media speculation surrounding my future in the last 24 hours and I want to set the record straight.
I'm not leaving. I'm staying at the football club and I can't wait for the start of the season and captaining this great football club."
What is a good person? Someone who stays at Newcastle no matter what?
Someone easygoing, likeable and has good intentions. Lots of our lot phone it in.
Those PSV fans know their shit
Crucially, as good as a player he is, he's extremely likeable. It's about time we got good people in, I'm sick of seeing Colo, Willo, Sissoko, Colback etc.
