  1. Sigurdsson is straight in, if he's off to Palace. £6m
  2. Don't think 12m is THAT good of a fee, but Janmaat is a good replacement and we've done ok out of this. Still hurts like fuck to see him in that Arsenal kit though - my fault for emotionally attaching myself to players under this regime. Arsenal have got a class player, there.
  3. They shouldn't be letting Di Maria go.
  4. They shouldn't be letting Di Maria go.
  5. Courtois, cheapie Debuchy, Willo, O' Shea, Evans, cheapie Sanchez, Fabregas, Eriksen, De Jong, Albrighton Van Persie, Dzeko, Ings .....so far. This year feels so tough, there's about 8 amazing midfielders to pick from.
  6. Get French Football Newcastle United have accepted an offer for Hatem Ben Arfa, but the player refuses to budge. Full story: http://t.co/26PbPBypVs #NUFC
  7. One more striker, with Debuchy, Yanga-Mbiwa, Marveaux and maybe Ben Arfa out. We'll be stuck with Gutierrez.
  8. Way too many expensive players, it's very tough to pick a team I reckon Courtois, Debuchy, Williamson, Eriksen, Van Persie, Sanchez and Fabregas will stay in mine, but it's hard to fit quality around that. Krul, De Jong and Rose are bargains too.

It's a big challenge asking him to dislodge all those Champions League medals from their defence.
  10. I'm not going to pretend I've not been constantly checking since Monday

I thought that if they couldn't go down last time, they never would. But that squad is painfully bad.
  12. Still feel a bit lost that this is all over. Germany deserved to win overall, but Argentina really should've won that game. 0 shots on target, but Higuain's and Palacio's chances were pathetic (Messi's not so much - tough angle and perhaps the wrong foot for it). Neuer could've been sent off for clattering Higuain, which would've been game-changing. In the end, it was a mix of extra German recovery time and Sabella's awful subs that decided it - Lavezzi was brilliant, again. A less tired defence probably wouldn't have gave Gotze all that room, but what a finish! Schweinsteiger and Neuer were class, as always, along with 'Masher' Mascherano. I know there's been some Messi-hating but that award was probably decided pre-kick off and, until then, he was certainly amongst the outstanding 3 or 4. He wasn't even bad during the game - starting brilliantly and faded slightly but there's only so much one man can do. That final free kick was poor, admittedly. It's just such a shame that it's all over and we're without football for a month, with no enjoyable football for at least a year! The group stage was magnificent and the knockouts faded but what they lost in quality was made up for in drama. Brazil v Chile, Germany v Algeria, extra time in Belgium v USA, Tim Krul's shootout and Brazil v Germany were all amazing in their own ways. A really good tournament, with a classy BBC montage finishing things of, as per usual.
  13. An Arsenal spending spree They're doing it in style.
  14. I dont get all this about Messi being shite last night. He was average, yeah, but no worse than a lot of them.
  15. I imagine Ki was sold on the idea of playing with Senderos and Joe Cole.
  16. Wenger splashing the cash - it doesn't feel right, does it? Some serious quality coming in now, they needed a Khedira-like midfielder. Lots of bodies though, I wonder if they'll sell Cazorla or Arteta.
  17. Or, if Messi had decided to look more bothered or put away his chance which, while not a sitter, is the sort of chance he's regularly put away year after year, he'd be a world champion? Devil's advocate, I know, but I'm not sure I can get on board with the "clearly the best ever" school of thought. There's an argument for it but I don't think it can be said with such a degree of certainty. And as I say, I'm as big a fan of him as anyone else. I hope there's more to come from him, new heights, I really do, but for the first time I wonder if a) his body is feeling the effects of so much football in the past 7-8 years or b) we've already seen the best of him? Of the three chances, his was hardest imo. In that position, it needs a right-footed shot. As for his future, Barcelona seem to be going through a transitional summer by losing Xavi, Valdes, Puyol etc. He'll have great strikers with him but will it help or hinder him that he's not the sole focus anymore?
  18. Thomas Muller is a dick. That £20-on-Messi-cashed-out-and-put-onto-Muller bet didn't pay off. Douche.
  19. Khedira to Arsenal and Ki to Villa would be superb signings. Enner Valencia to West Ham is World Cup Signings 101, just a silly thing to do.
  20. Joint 5th And I beat my brother by 2 points, so that's awesome!
  21. Messi is still the best ever. All that talent, all those Champions League medals, the sheer amount of goals etc. The best ever and, if Higuain and Palacio had bothered to not fuck up, he'd be a world champion too.
  22. Positive few days, which is totally unlike this club. To come out of the Debuchy situation this well is a surprise. Let's hope we replace Janmaat this well next summer
