Knowing Wenger's recent track record at transfers, if he replaces Van Persie with a Park/Benayoun/Chamakh standard of player, we could seriously compete with them again next season. Also, Liverpool are getting ready to implode and Spurs will be in transition after Harry leaves. Meanwhile, we seem to be going forwards as a club. Getting far too optimistic here.

For me, the only big error Pardew has made here is his handling of Ben Arfa. Hoofing the ball concedes possession far more than Ben Arfa does and when he has played - despite the odd mistake - he leads to goals. It's really that simple, Ben Arfa = goals. If you stick Santon behind him it would be a lot better. His poor performance at Blackburn was replicated by 10 other players yet he was hauled off at half time. He's our most gifted player, yet I fear this is leading to a sad ending.

He was shite at SJP, but he was great at WHL last season. Neither affect how he'll do on Saturday though and he's really improved his consistency in the last few months.

Does Bale get played on the right now? Whichever flank it is, we should put Santon on him otherwise he'll destroy Simpson. It'll be a respectable defeat for us.
