Some of the newspapers today should be ashamed of themselves. Having the nerve to paint Barton as the devil, when the 2 Arsenal players did worse. And they're all convinced it was a legit penalty! I'm gobsmacked.
Kid sounds promising and it'd be great to get a striker in, but for that money I'd like something better and less risky. I'd definitely support him if he comes, but hopefully we've bid for a few strikers and he's just one of them.
Theo Walcott has a book coming out (serialised in The Sun) and he's got a few interesting things to say about Capello:
But then he backtracks by saying everything is fine now, nothing to see here....

As a Barca sympathiser I'm glad this has happened, but its not nice seeing another world class player leave England. Shocked that the whole thing is finally over though.
Fair play to Pardew, he said the right things in those interviews. He uses his charm to convince us he isn't a puppet, but unfortunately we know the truth. I do sort of like him though, even if his substitutions yesterday were shocking.
He wasn't horrible and actually showed a lot of promise. But it has to be seen as a 'work in progress' at the minute considering our pre-season from hell. When he gets a bit fitter and becomes comfortable with all these new teammates we'll have quite a player on our hands. It won't take him long, we've got a cracker here.
Wonder if the club will offer him a new deal on the condition that he quits twitter. Its fun to read as fans but it must be giving our hierarchy nightmares.
