  1. If Shearer doesn't stay then I have to agree with wanting Martinez. Also the West Brom manager is a Smoggie (think that still qualifies as English) might mowbray not get the 'boro job when gibson does eventually decide to pedal southgate?
  2. Just makes you wonder what the f*** we have to do to score a goal, let alone win a friggin' game!!! cometh the time, cometh the ranger?
  3. it's like that american pie lyric, 'the day the music died', but more in this case you could substitute music for fun or football or passion or club, and probably pin-point a date too
  4. it's looking like we're nailed on for it. i still think big al is the right man for the job, for what it's worth. you can't polish a turd
  5. argentina are known for their very aggressive players with alot of strength, it's the reason why there players do better than brazilians in england colo simply doesn't have it in the prem which Argentine has really shined in the premiership? I cant think of one except Tevez heinze didn't do too badly, either has julio arca come to think of it
  6. that's horrible news, condolensces to the defoe family. r.i.p
  7. http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/8099/kit.jpg there ya go!
  8. As so? http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/17/46040481.jpg It's a massive improvement IMO that looks awesome, with the badge / adidas in the traditional places
  9. *plays air guitar like bill s. preston esquire and ted theodorre logan* ^ not a smilie for that!
  10. i'd settle for blue trim, red numbers. we've had it in the umbro days, ie- the promotion shirt, we had grey trim prior to that. the only thing that i'd be reluctant to go back to red numbers is that west brom had a shirt that was very similar from the back the last time they were in the premiership. i'd love it if we got a yellow/green away w. blue numbers etc though
  11. good stuff let's hope he's more mobile than butt/nolan/geremi, and that he can take a corner/free kick half decently
  12. i don't know how to put the link back in to go straight to a previous post, but in reply #40 to this thread i posted the shirt with 'owen 10' in grey, blue and red in the current premiership font/numbering, if that's any help
  13. i tried to find the adidas 08-09 font to come up with 'jonas 18', but i couldn't find it, so i half inched this 'gerrard 8' from a liverpool champions league shirt to give an idea of what a generic adidas print might look like http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/2041/newshirtadidas.jpg would look pretty smart i reckon
  14. http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/5369/newshirts.jpg i think red ^ would look class for the letters and numbers
  15. unless they go old skool red on us! really like that new shirt
  16. barcelona either the 97-98 team with the likes of: figo, luis enrique, rivaldo, de la pena, dugarry or the 02-03 team with the likes of: kluivert, riquelme, mendieta, xavi, saviola, overmars
  17. yeah, that does make a lot of sense actually, oba will have a go from anywhere, and if he's drawn defenders away that would leave a lot more space for an owen/lovenkrands to poach from
  18. that sounds exactly right, build him up to knock him down like they usually do, and take a swipe at us if things go wrong.
  19. which beggars the question, if wise was incharge of recruitment and retention, and doing his job properly, you'd have to think he'd have found at least one or 2 worldwide when he'd been on his jollies to brazil and other places from august-january, instead of rushing through 2 signings in the last week before the deadline because of barton/owen getting injured

  21. definitely, i'd like to see al build his side, with his players to play his football. 'nuff respect to him for dropping colo and ameobi when both are off form, sensible but brave decisions
  22. 8/9 at the minute. i'm sad to say it :'( we were pathetic against spurs, completely toothless and void of effort and passion (shearer and jonas excepted, and big al wasn't even playing)
  23. reckon he'll ever make it on to the pitch for us again?
  24. i think yesterday was the must win game jonas seemed to be the only one pulling his finger out, the rest didn't even look like they gave a shit. we gave spurs too much space and time on the ball, afraid to put a tackle in. we're now 4 points adrift, and if we keep playing like this we're down without even a fight
