  1. No Idea why Shearer would require big wages. He's had absolutely no experience in management except one short lived spell here in which he showed nothing that would suggest he's a good manager. He doesnt deserve big wages nor does he have any right to be commanding them.
  2. I thought Chucho didn't look that bad. Although he didn't score many goals he always looks dangerous and a threat whenever i seen him. Obviously not worth what Santos were asking for him but I wouldn't say he was a poor player from what I saw.
  3. On purpose? No no, I'm there for something else, I'll probably head out to watch it like though.
  4. Our radio ads are bad enough. That fella talking in a ridiculously over done and slightly aggressive geordie accent
  5. I'm possibly in Blackpool when the playoff final is on.
  6. Didnt realise Ronaldinho wasn't going to the world cup. A bit of a shame how he's fizzled out, certainly one of the gifted footballers I've ever seen.
  7. Beye can piss off. Promised to stay and fight for the cause yet left at the first chance. If he had every intention to jump ship fair enough, I wouldnt have a problem, but don't claim otherwise all summer. Despite being 30, I'd still take Luke Young, better than Simpson and wouldn't command a huge fee/wages. Davies is obviously good enough but I'm not sure he'd come here and paly 2nd fiddle to Colo/Williamson/Taylor meaning we'd have to get rid of one of them 3.
  8. That's your first line, your first fucking line and you've got it wrong. We didn't claim that at all, your basing your entire article over a statement that you've either manipulated and twisted, or not read at all.
  9. I'm sure Arsene Wenger compared us to them once.
  10. It will wear off even quicker if they actually start the season well. See Hull City. Struggled and just avoided relegation the season before they finished 6th and were promoted.
  11. oh i don't know many things can be said about ashley/llambias but at least they only come out with something stupid on a biannual basis rather than the weekly sullivan comes out with with him talking to the london based media regularly I bet they'll spend more than we do in the summer though....
  12. Souness wont be back in football again.
  13. This No matter how much ppl rate colocini, the fact he's on 86k a week mean's he should be sold asap! he must be in the top 5 of highest paid defenders And replace him with who?
  14. http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/sport/Hull-City-want-Premier-League-says-Cullen/article-2109611-detail/article.html I went right through school with him, he's a good lad. I remember when he got dropped from Newcastle; the reason being? He was too small and hardworking, not the type of player they were looking for.
  15. "truly represent the values of the Geordie nation" Has to be one of the cringe worthy things they've ever said.
  16. Please explain how money spent is a barometer of success - specifically taking into account the fortunes of Leeds (2003 - onwards), NUFC (2005 - 2008) and Liverpool (2009/10). If you think we'll stay in the league without spending anything, your in for a shock. To say we NEED to spend is a perfectly fair and valid point. Nobody's saying spending automatically constitutes to success, however it will go along way to determining weather we stay up or not.
  17. No because Pompey are gonna get absolutely raped in the final so wouldn't have qualified for Europe anyway. They would. Chelsea's Europa league spot goes to the losing finalist.
  18. Once told a lad I know to fuck off for just saying hello to him a few year back. Tosser of the highest order.
  19. Oh and Geordie Nation man. i'm sure these morons go out of their way to deliberately embarrass us at times.
  20. Are there? Even if there is, that alone wont be sufficient to keep us in the league. Birmingham finished 9th(?) with Stephen Carr as a first choice RB. I agree it's going to be a massive struggle but with a bit of luck the squad we've got now plus a couple of frees and loans we could still realistically finish 17th. Stephen Carr has been class for Birmingham this season, they also spent around 16M this season and thats before fee's for the loans of the likes of Hart, Chucho, Vignal and Tainio. If we spend 16M If we spend anywhere near 16M I'll be massively shocked. Carr may have been class (never watched them really) but that's my point, hopefully Simpson can be class for us. Carr was **** when he left us 4(?) years ago. I checked before and they spent £5m on Johnson and £1.5m on Ferguson and that was it (excluding sales as well). Our squad is better than Birmingham's championship squad as well IMO, so as I say, I don't think its unreasonable to think we'll finish 17th. Add Dann; 4m, Gardner; 3.5M and Michel 3M and thats where I got the around 16M from. Of course it's not unreasonable to say we'll finish 17th but you can forgive me and many others for fearing the worst if we spend next to nowt.
