  1. Were you in the stadium daft lad ? Because if you watched on TV you'll have missed how much ground he was covering to get behind the ball when they were breaking in the first half. Very effective. MOTM. Guthrie was magnificent, by his standards. Half the starting XI could have got MOTM, Guthrie included. It was a team effort, and the team played well. Makes it difficult to award MOTM. I don't see why this is difficult to grasp
  2. Krul (even if Harper's fit) Simpson Williamson Coloccini Enrique Barton Tiote Guthrie Jonas Nolan Ameobi Subs: Harper/Soderberg, R. Taylor, S. Taylor, Ireland, Ranger, Lovenkrands, Kuqi
  3. Keep Lovenkrands as emergency cover. Keep Best and Shola. Loan Ranger ( ) and release Kuqi. And sign two new strikers.
  4. One particular moment in the first half where he had to stretch a leg out but he stopped a Man U attack through on goal. A piece of superb defending. Always rated him and he's not disappointing. This.
  5. Yeah I assumed Rooney just missed which was unlikely. Cracking stuff, Tim.
  6. Yeah Pardew definitely deserves credit. The whole Lovenkrands rotating between strike and midfield allowed Guthrie to tag close to people in the first half and harass them without leaving it all to Tiote. And he certainly seemed to get the team psyched. Hughton-esque team spirit and effort. Great to see.
  7. Great team performance. Krul 8 Simpson 7 - up against Rooney most of the second half Coloccini 9 Williamson 9 Enrique 7 Barton 7 Tiote 8.5 Guthrie 7.5 Jonas 8.5 Ameobi 7.5 Lovenkrands 7 - gave 100% in a difficult role dropping between strike and midfield Ireland 7 - looked promising Ranger 6
  8. We have only had an "average" injury list this season according to Toons Taylor the other day.Our injury list this season is beyond ridiculous,an absolute joke to be honest. It's no worse than ours. Your best players are Barton,Nolan,Enrique and Coloccini, how long have they been out with injuries this season? I'd say you have been very fortunate injury wise this season. Okay. Enrique's missed a good month or two, Ben Arfa (arguably our best player in total) has been out pretty much all season. Our number 1 keeper spent a good deal of time out, and we missed our number 1 RB at the start of the season for a few months. Best (arguably our best striker after Carroll) missed a lot of this season with injury. Shola's been in and out. Gosling's been out the whole season, Ireland out for months, Raylor and Saylor out of months. Wiliamson, Coloccini, Tiote and Nolan have all been absent with suspension a fair bit. Smith obviously has been absent for the second half of the season. LuaLua back with a broken leg, Vuckic and Kadar constantly injured. If 'very fortunate' means naming a bench entirely full of kids, then yeah. We've been really fortunate.

  10. Guy's name was Darren Wearside, and his FB profile has photos of him as a bonafide Mackem. Wearside as a last name? Deffo a pisstake. Wearmouth, rather. I'm telling you man, I don't think it is!

  12. Sunderland fan on Facebook when commenting on the strangest way they've found out a football result (odd question, I know): Obsessed.
  13. Apparantley they heard Tiote was running down the A1.
  14. It's his job interview, basically. No wonder he's nervous.
  15. What article? Said a spokesman from the Daily Mail.
  16. If it replaced the League Cup, it would make the whole thing more interesting than a silly knock-off FA Cup.

    Alan Pardew

Tbh he's a well dressed and manicured individual, highly stylish. In looks alone, he certainly trumps Big Sams pink scarf chic or even (shudder) Keegan's painfully 90s chino and turtle neck combos. Kudos to Hughton though- by his latter months his suit and jumper combo was class. He looked like such a Victorian dude.
  18. Sounds like Jay Shi-uh... Spearing. Doesn't he just mispronounce the second name then say uhSpearing to cover it up? Doesn't sound like he's saying "Shithouse" but maybe that's just the poor audio on what I'm hearing.
  19. I assume you're making a joke of some kind.
  20. I don't like Carragher, but that's the kinda injury you don't wish on anyone.
