I sometimes watch the ‘dance’ we play with the defensive line; standing goal side of the line then jumping back onside before the free kick is taken. There’s always a chance they it’s poorly executed and we are caught offside.

I was fully into easing back in the second leg of the League Cup because effectively we lost the tie at SJP and we never get anything at the Etihad. We can get something here though, they aren’t in great form. Brighton were moving them all over the pitch until the Mings header against the run of play. We need two or three 8/10 performances though and I’m not sure where they are coming from.

The most infuriating thing about him was constantly having his hands on opponents. Not like it made any difference.

Watched a bit of the Villa v Brighton game. The winner came from a corner, probably against the run of play. We can definitely get something if we are on it.

I’m sure I’m massively out but it seems like around 50% of all goals get flagged by VAR and about a third get ruled out. I didn’t even celebrate the Willock goal even though I didn’t initially see his run. I just presumed it would get flagged by VAR and he’d be offside. Once I saw the replay I celebrated as he was obviously on……,

For sure, but a nervy last 15 mins all the same.

Similar to well over a dozen games this season, we play well in spells and score. They score, then it’s a scrap and we mostly concede another or we grab a winner. We dug deep for the win but it was more of the same against an awful Spurs.

If we can’t beat these we might as well give up.
