Until quite recently I still thought Livramento had a a higher ceiling but I’m not so sure now. He got real class.

Hall was my MOTM but Murphy and Joelinton were excellent tucking in and supporting the FBs.

We’ve definitely got a goal in us. If we can keep a CS in the second half, big ask.

Newcastle United vs. Manchester City: 28/09/24 @ 12:30 (TNT Sports)
Novocastrian replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
No point sweating it, we won’t know what version of NUFC will turn up until about half an hour in. Howe probably doesn’t know either, we’ll probably at least given them something to think about. I’m more concerned that the totally forseeable scenario of both Isak and Wilson being injured has occurred after 5 league games. The £15m back up striker appears to be 4th choice and would probably have been loaned out if it wasn’t for the other injuries. -
Even funnier it was for kicking the ball away!!! 😃
-
Sixth off day in a row.

The midfield is the issue I don’t care if Howe doesn’t want a specialised CDM but one of the three CMs needs to perform the role.

Anyone checked in on the mentally deranged over at RTG? They must be suffering. -
He's a warrior, silk and steel, one minute tangling with centre forwards and the next pinging 60 yard passes and stepping into midfield with the ball or getting in shooting positions. Wish he was 10 years younger, he's almost unique.

Howe needs to go back to basics with this midfield. It’s non-existent. -

Carbon copy of Bournemouth away. Dogshit. -
They’ve got too many average player; Solanke, Johnson to name two obvious ones.

Sick of hearing about this bloke to be honest. Whatever’s happening in the background his immediate future is totally in the hands of Eddie Howe and team. We only ‘move on’ from a disastrous summer window if the team keep winning and we can battle through to the next window largely unscathed. The alternative scenario is more scrutiny on the summer debacle following key injuries and/or a run of defeats. He’d be best advised to batten down his scran hatch for a while.

The worst Newcastle player you've seen in a match
Novocastrian replied to gjohnson's topic in Football
The worst player I’ve ever seen in professional football was Paul Dalglish, not sure if a single performance stood out but the lad couldn’t play for toffee. -
Haha just realised!!

Brighton looked the better team in the last 15 mins or so.

That’s on top of the PSR fire sales of Anderson and Minteh. Shambolic summer.
-
In fairness to Forest, they reportedly bought Anderson from us for circa £35m so they will feel Elanga is worth at least that. Plus the fact they have about 5 hours to source a replacement, add on another £10m.
-
Why wait 4/5 hours before window closes before trying to take a starting player from another PL team? Smacks of desperation and ‘we tried’, this is making things worse IMO.
-
£35m what the fuck is going on this window?
-
‘£20m deadline day deal’. So that’s Trafford then?

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Novocastrian replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
PSR has a much greater impact if you forget the first lesson that there’s not much value in buying from the PL. -
No club is going to sell their captain within 7/8 hours of the window closing. We must have given up on this a couple of days ago surely. Anyway £70m for this bloke is insane. I’d rather they have the post transfer window debacle inquest and then get back to a more sensible approach for the next window.

I don’t think this signing would have caused too much consternation a couple of months ago but waiting until the last day and seemingly caving to Burnley’s price…….
