  1. I haven't checked this afternoon but from what I can see, there is absolutely nothing of substance which states we're interested in Jones. The Guardian article has nothing other than "Jones wants to leave, maybe Everton who have sold a striker might want him." Shite signing if it turns out to be true, of course. But then again I thought Barry was a shite signing and he's been one of our best players.
  2. GW22 Sunderland 2-1 Southampton Arsenal 3-0 Fulham Crystal Palace 2-1 Stoke Man City 4-1 Cardiff Norwich 0-0 Hull West Ham 1-2 Newcastle Liverpool 3-1 Aston Villa Swansea 1-2 Tottenham Chelsea 2-1 Man Utd West Brom 2-2 Everton
  3. If he can find some of his confidence again, it's a very good signing for Hull.
  4. Lovely stuff. That and the Arsenal/BTTS bet made it a very good night's work, just annoyed I didn't put more on the Ronaldo bet as it was such obscene value. Can't say my Villarreal draw prediction was a great shout, mind.
  5. Arsenal to win and BTTS @ 5/2 Villarreal-Sociedad draw @ 5/2 Singles.
  6. Ballon d'Or today. Come on Ronaldo. Edit: gutted I didn't go with my instinct and smash the 8/1 I originally saw, only got 4/1 a week later. My fault, but 4/1 was still obscene value. Hopefully there are no nasty surprises later.
  7. I thought we were going to The Cut originally then swiftly seemed to be diverting to HoS. At one point thought we were going to the Academy which I would've preferred but I'll live. It was alright, had no idea it actually had a proper downstairs area. I can recall coming back from the bar to see Taylor dancing and just shouting "mung mung mung mung" to the words of whatever song it was. Inspirational, really.
  8. Thought you were unlucky yesterday and generally played well. The "goal" will no doubt have been discussed to death so apart from saying it was clearly the wrong decision, I'll avoid it. Your main weakness seemed to be the ball not sticking up top enough and Remy didn't seem to play with the same confidence he had, say, 2 months ago. That miss at 0-1 was pivotal - arguably the biggest moment of the match apart from the disallowed goal - and he snatched at it a bit instead of placing it. Perhaps the earlier opportunity when he cut inside instead of shooting was playing on his mind so he tried to do something different for the second one. Just seems like he isn't as generally assured as he was earlier in the season, which I guess happens to pretty much all strikers at some point. Thought you had serious problems on the right with Yanga-Mbiwa. Not his fault he's not (I don't think he is anyway?) an accomplished right back and is having to play there, but still, thought he wasn't good at all and equally was barely protected. Kolarov had the freedom of several NE postcodes on more than one occasion to stride forward and do whatever he liked. Surprised to see Nasri was so seriously injured, to be honest. It was a bad challenge from MYM and on another day would've been a red card (not that I think there should be inconsistency with how refs deal with tackles, but let's face it, there is) but the way he came in, it seemed strange it caused such a bad injury. You can definitely see why many will say it's a red card and he could have had no complaints if it was a red. It was clearly just frustration given he tried to first pull him back and secondly trip him up before finally thinking fuck this, 'ave it. It was also alarming, IMO, how much better Ben Arfa was than pretty much anyone else on your team when he came on. Thought Tiote and Anita kept things ticking over alright and Cabaye tried plenty of different things which didn't really come off. Sometimes you need to make an allowance in a post-match review of the fact you were playing the best team in the league. Plenty to build on from what I saw. Still, I doubt any of the above really feels that important given the monumental cock-up for Tiote's thundertwat.
  9. I'm unsure who actually suggested Sinners. I can vaguely recall someone - Yorkie, perhaps - saying that they wanted to go to a terrible bar where dignity is yet to be discovered. Shame I didn't get chance to fight MKSC in the cage. Brett's Pardew love was refreshingly similar to on here. Think at the curry he was quiet for 20-30 minutes then someone mentioned Pardew's name and Brett just explodes into life launching a vehement defence of AP. It was quite something to witness.
  10. Once again this was class. Various moments had me uncontrollably laughing on the night out (e.g. Brett's darts ) and it was great to see everyone. The R v B game was, of course, total Reds domination. I propose we don't wait another year for the next one though. I'm thinking an end-of-season clash in May. Also, hope those who hadn't been to one of these (be it the game or the night) enjoyed it. And thanks again to Yorkie for organising it. Throat knacks now from doing frankly too many Wade Barrett impressions. And the gym is without doubt getting abused this week given the quantity of food and beer consumed this weekend, potentially undoing most of my initial good post-Christmas work. Mint day/night/weekend, as always.
  11. Reds: your lack of fully functioning muscles and bones are a tribute to your exceptional work rate yesterday. We was good.
  12. Today is not a day to be thought of lightly. There will be blood.
  13. Come along, Ian. Get smashed and admit your crush on Pardew.
  14. The 'ringer' we have has played before for us. The other acquisition needs no introduction.
  15. A deadline day double swoop. The window is officially ablaze.
  16. The Blues are quaking in their cheap boots. They certainly should be, let me tell you.
  17. If any other forumers are reading this and fancy joining for the night out post-Akbars, get yourself along.
  18. I can exclusively reveal that the Reds are not interested in securing the services of Stu. We need the right type of character in the dressing room, unfortunately Stu does not currently fit the bill. We have however made a signing which in no small part is down to the pulling power - literally or metaphorically - of my Bosnian stalwart. This may or may not be the last signing of the evening, stay tuned.
  19. Just given Nixon a bacon sarnie for standing in the cold awaiting potential breaking news. Cup of tea is on its way, Kris.
  20. Just need to thrash out negotiations, mainly what he's drinking in the pub so we can pay him in his desired currency.
  21. If this deadline day deal goes through, we'll be fine.
  22. For those metro-ing from Central to 4LE, fancy meeting at Central about 10ish? Seems like a few of us might be.
  23. GW21: Hull 0-1 Chelsea Cardiff 2-1 West Ham Everton 2-1 Norwich Fulham 2-0 Sunderland Southampton 2-1 West Brom Tottenham 2-0 Crystal Palace Man Utd 2-1 Swansea Newcastle 1-3 Man City Stoke 1-2 Liverpool Aston Villa 0-2 Arsenal
