Haven't looked at a betting site since Sunday, none of the midweek games really appealed. Genuinely shocked to see so many people go for Man Utd. Absolutely awful odds. Those who went for Sunderland are a bit unlucky as they qualified in the manner where if you went with a pro-Sunderland bet (apart from simply Sunderland to go through) you'll have lost most likely.

Mata is obviously a great player, but whether it's a great signing I'm not so sure. Surely a commanding, quality central midfielder and a centre-half are more pressing issues?

But you've said he should be nailed on for the side, while Carrick/Barry would be pathetic options. The difference between likelihoods of them going isn't as massive as you think. Nor should it be, as Henderson hasn't shown enough to deserve to be a nailed-on option. I think he should be seriously considered, but hardly nailed-on. In terms of your rating of Carrick and Barry, I'm not saying I'd want either to go. I don't think we'll disagree in saying we've got an alarming lack of options, but that's something that's been abundantly clear for years now and will be until we take a long-term approach to the national side.

I'm not saying Henderson shouldn't go. He is also symptomatic of how weak we are, but at least he has time to improve and indeed has improved in the past 6 months. But to label Barry and Carrick pathetic options for midfield while Henderson 'excellent' is very wide of the mark.

Same. As I say, I think that treble is dead. Eyeing up Atletico and PSG both over 1.5 team goals. Also, got this feeling Sevilla will score despite Atletico's usually good defence. Atletico and BTTS is 11/5 with Coral. Tempting.

Barca -2 I'm not confident of - Levante have a knack of being tough dirty little shits - but saying there's a 1 in 6 chance of that treble happening isn't accurate at all. Think Hazard's been decent. Oscar and Willian have been poor IMO. Tbf Chelsea have been mediocre at best but the thing is, while Man Utd have been the better team, they just don't have the quality currently. Welbeck's shot for example had to go in but instead he scuffed it straight to Cech.
