Decent BetVictor offer for anyone with an account/fancies joining. Place a treble on the PL matches this weekend (fuck off Lyon) of up to £25 and get a free treble for the same stake next weekend, regardless of the outcome of this weekend's treble.

Hope that's not a sign of things to come this weekend; about to put some money on Sochaux-Lyon BTTS and Sochaux just score seconds before I can place the bet.

Parker's a completely different type of player to Danny Murphy. More defensive maybe. But Murphy developed into more of a holding midfielder as he aged. We're talking degrees, not "completely different." And I meant more as an aging central midfielder who can still play at this level, do the business for a mid-table side. TBF for me they were completely different midfielders. Parker is for me a holding midfielder while Danny was more of a Cabaye type or w/e you're going to call it at that age. Liked Murphy a lot, easily capable of playing a killer pass. More defensive as he got older, naturally, but still produced a good standard even a couple of years ago. Good player.

I can't get away from wanting RVP in my team. Happy with the team generally but dunno. The inevitability of wanting to tinker before tomorrow is taking over.

Got both. Think both could be stand-out players this season. From our perspective, I genuinely think Mirallas can be one of the best players in the whole league this season, if he stays fit (sound familiar?)

Coleman is great for a fairly inexpensive defender who'll start regularly and should rack up a decent total. Especially in Martinez team, where he will look even better going forward. I'm loving Everton this year for my fantasy football team. Starting off with Coleman and Mirallas. Keeping an eye on who eventually settles into the striker position. I'm toying with the idea of Barkley as a bench guy for £4.5 million. How likely is it that he breaks into the team early on Neil? Got Coleman and Mirallas myself - the 2 clear picks from our team for Fantasy Football currently. A vast majority of fans want him to get plenty of playing time. I'd be surprised if he's playing regularly in the first couple of months but I fully expect him to be given a lot more of a chance under Martinez. Barkley is still raw but the only way you can improve that is with playing time. I'd expect quite regular sub appearances for the first few months with the odd start.

I'll take that. Liverpool fans however never cease to amaze me with their stupidity.

100% agree. Really don't rate him much currently; a change in club is absolutely imperative for him.

Wonder how many weeks before I forget. Liverpool 2-0 Stoke City Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa Norwich 2-1 Everton Sunderland 2-1 Fulham West Brom 1-1 Southampton West Ham 1-1 Cardiff City Swansea 1-1 Man Utd Crystal Palace 0-1 Tottenham Chelsea 3-0 Hull City Man City 3-1 Newcastle Chelsea 2-0 Aston Villa Call me Lawro. Maybe 3-1 is too exciting for him.

If they play well then I don't think Jol will give 2 s***s about off the ball work rate and nor should he. That's true, but it will make it easier for opposition team to find space when they have the ball vs. Fulham. Reckon they could struggle this year. They are shit away from home and Craven Cottage isn't exactly the scariest and most hostile place to go to. A bad start and Jol could go IMO. I remember our game vs Fulham at Anfield last season, which was by far the easiest game of the season and zero fight was shown by their team due to their lax attitude and total lack of pressing of opposition. Fulham tend to be associated with being pretty shite travellers mind. Dunno, it's the classic "oh, it's only Fulham" when you see you're at home to them on the fixture list. I know that sounds disrespectful but I think every team in the league would think at home to them they could win. I thought they'd struggle a lot this year but my mind is changing. That's some excellent attacking options and what defensive fragility should be more than compensated for. If they don't have an awful start, mind. Because I agree, if they do start shit, something tells me Jol will be off.

Is Navas likely to be a regular starter?

Charlie Austin 3:16 is born. Probably some changes before Saturday but currently: Mignolet Johnson Zabaleta Coleman Mirallas Coutinho Hazard © Silva Hooper Soldado Bony Marshall, Bellamy, Shaw, Ward

Annoyed I'll miss tonight's internationals as there are some very good games on paper. Belgium v France, Italy v Argentina, Portugal v Holland, Gabon v Cape Verde. Some right crackers.

It's very hard to resist, I know. But one thing I've noticed is there is generally a lot more value in betting long-term. It's a cliche but 9 times out of 10 it's true - the table doesn't lie come May. It allows for shock defeats, off days and the such. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to stop betting short-term, but it's definitely worth putting a few bob into some ante-post bets.

Even with the chance of "second season syndrome", I'd be hard pushed to put them any more than 5/4. Covered in a pint of value, this.
-
Can get 15/8 on Swansea to finish in the top 10. Anyone else think that's a crazy price?
-
Huddlestone's an excellent buy for Hull IMO.

You could arduously type the 15 players you have.

If he stays fit he'll be one of the best players in the league this season. I'm convinced of that.

Watched Augsburg-Dortmund and Schalke-Hamburg over the weekend. Gearing up to be a class season.
