    Bafetimbi Gomis

He needs to be more careful than to keep getting photographed in these situations.
  2. On a different note, that incident provided one of the thickest comments I've ever heard in my life from a friend of mine - incidentally a Mackem. Him: "Where's Mutu at?" Me: "He's at rehab probably." Him: "What league are they in?"
  3. I really think he's past the point of caring. He slowly realised people saw him for what he is and just stopped trying to be a vaguely tolerable human being.

I've been a bit surprised by how he's started at Man Utd but maybe you're right with that theory. I have to say he was exceptional with the media with us. Professional but straight-talking.

Since when did Hooper become this player of apparent star quality? Seen nothing from him to suggest he'll be anything better than decent. He'll score a few goals, as he should.

Aulas is, by all accounts, an astronomical bellend mind.

I think the whole 'buying French players for far less than they're worth' thing isn't going to keep working.
  8. Seriously, man. What an apocalyptic twat.
  9. Powerful stuff, that. Exceptional class from Feyenoord as a whole.

    Other clubs' transfers

It's all relative. So-called lesser teams are signing players who will improve the standard of their squad. They are moving forward. Trust me, I know all about standing still while other teams make steps forward. It's the same here, surely. I'm not saying the players other teams are buying are world-beaters but, with no small cause being the increase in money from the new Premier League deal, teams who you would tend to think are bottom-half teams are buying players who are not bottom-half players. They are showing ambition and, regardless of whether it's all down to money, are progressing their clubs. So while you can debate the quality of the players in relation to how you'd see them in Newcastle's pecking order (and fwiw, I think you're overrating the quality of your overall squad/underrating what these players could bring), the point is if you're standing still in this league, you're actually going backwards. I think you've still got - at least when on form - a very good first XI but yeah, I can see why people are frustrated to put it kindly at the inactivity while teams you'd normally expect to finish above are making clear strides forward with progressing their squads.

Anyone know much about Philipp Hosiner, Austria Vienna striker? Apparently we're after him. Know very little about him, other than he scored a fuck load of goals for AV last year.

Veratti looks like a star in the making from what I've seen.
  13. Think the collar is weird, otherwise certainly not as horrible as people were saying IMO.

    He's not wrong.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

All things considered, it wouldn't be a ridiculous bid. The bigger point in all this is surely the prospect of selling him at all, whatever the price.
  16. Good. Such an odious fucking organisation.
  17. The conditions do seem to get worse. Fair enough. Could be worse. Tolerable. I see.
  18. About time. Anything but ITV.
  19. I'm pleased. Stops boring bastards just relying on the same 1 or 2 players to carry them through.

The same money Everton spent on 2 players for 10m? They also got Barca's next big thing ffs. You wouldn't expect bottom half clubs like the 4 first clubs mentioned - Swansea excepted, though not by a million miles - to be spending the sort of money they are and bringing in the quality they are. We bought 3 Wigan players and a potential young gem on loan, which sort of equates to where we're at. League is shaping up to be extraordinarily competitive this season.

    Sunderland

Sunderland, Southampton, Swansea, Norwich. What the hell is going on? This new money is going a bit too far.
  22. Isn't that a near identical fixture between us two to last year? Goodison, September, Monday night.
