Hibbert off
Clear corner, ref gives a goal kick. Am I watching a different game here?
Aye, the usual "oh, shit, we haven't improved, let's change things with 10 mins to go."
He's biased, but Stoke are getting away with a fair few fouls here. Fellaini was being held by Shawcross in the area - not saying it was a stonewall penalty but he could have had few complaints if he'd pointed to the spot. Then Osman lightly tackles Crouch and Mr 6ft7 falls to the ground with gusto = free kick.
Painful to watch. It's like we've thought of what Stoke are good at (i.e. defending crosses, getting men behind the ball) and played exactly into that. Numerous times in that half Vellios was surrounded by 3+ Stoke players with no support. Embarrassing stuff, especially at home.
What impressed me about Spurs yesterday is the fact they didn't let up. No intention to settle at 2-0. Could very easily have been 5 or 6 if it wasn't for JJ being on such good form.
Such an abysmal decision to send Cahill off.
I accept refs will make mistakes but this season, there has been a ridiculous lack of consistency. How can you respect them when they keep making these absurd decisions on such a regular basis?
Spurs also look a little dependent on Adebayor who can go off the boil.
With the four teams scrapping for two places and presumably taking points off each other, it also opens things up for others to sneak in there.
Not especially IMO - in their great run they're having, Adebayor went 4 or 5 games without scoring.
