I get it from Sunderland fans here in Darlo about how good their team apparently is, when it really, really isn't. It's very irritating indeed.

So has their first win this season (2nd home win in about 11?) blinded some delusional old souls? A huge deflection, an own goal, a goalie howler, and a set piece the goalkeeper should have saved. Europe certs.

Something I've always thought is that when you're resting players, you try to keep your defence the same, unless one of them really is knackered. Mix the midfield/forwards up but keep the defence together as that's the area that most needs quality communication and togetherness in the team.

I still don't see them winning at Norwich this weekend which will be an equal yardstick as to where they're at as today was, playing a Stoke team, as you say, 3 days after they themselves had just had a hard game in Kiev.
