  1. Never seen him play BUT we need a CB, that much is clear I think it makes sense to go for a cheap option now and then spend bigger in the summer when it will be easier to buy (Mbiwa for example) and more options available
  2. Think I read they get back on Wednesday
  3. From the little I have seen of Cisse I don't think he would be suited to the wide role, think Ba played there for West Ham Though I think Pardew will stick with the 4-4-2 so neither will have to go out wide
  4. Aye, swap Cisse with Ba and that is Maybe Guthrie instead of Jonas as I think he would work better in a 3 man midfield
  5. With our current strikers I would be worried BUT with Cisse and Ba I am not too worried
  6. Don't like it, it serves to benefit the bigger clubs and they have enough advantages as it is
  7. There is a canny compilation video of Wor Timmy's saves so far this season on everybody's favourite video sharing site Tim Krul Saves Newcastle 11/12 HD
  8. And then racists start to call other people "racists". Varying levels of political correctness have blurred the lines too and probably pushed some people towards what would be considered racist. I would say racism is more prevalent and indeed vicious in many other parts of the world than it is in the UK. On a global scale we're not bad, but at the same time shouldn't be complacent. Multi cultural society has improved Britain and the west end of Newcastle is a great example. Anyway this thread is getting a lot broader than it was probably intended originally, but I'm happy to say again I haven't heard any racist abuse inside SJP for years if not decades. I wouldn't agree with that. Their is a large amount of minority groups in the West End, (mainly West gate road) however from my view they tend to stay in their own circles, often not mixing with other groups. In fact I would say it's a good example of not integrating well. One of the main causes of racism is the lack of integration. I'm not just saying it's all on one side, white people also have to make an effort to integrate with other cultures. Too many people and too many youths have an attitude that white people shouldn't mingle with ethnic minorities. That is an appalling pint of view in my opinion. I have to say though that since when I was little to now I see less and less racism. Maybe it's because I'm not around the sort of people who held those views or maybe racism is on the decline, but from what I can see is that over the years the problem is starting to be solved. Like I said though, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I just don't hear of it anymore because I'm old enough to choose who I socialise with and I choose not to socialise with people who have those views. Who exactly has this view? Oh and I actually agree with Benwell Lad about the west end of Newcastle being a good example of multi cultural society. Trust me I was born and bred in this area so I am well aware of it, is it perfect? Nope, far from it BUT a quick visit to places like Bradford and some of the towns in the North West and you appreciate just how good it is here. I think you are making the mistake of assuming because majority of the Asians in Newcastle live in the west end therefore they are not integrating, that imo is false. Back on the football issue, I personally can't recall any incidents of racist abuse BUT have heard about it from others so no doubt it exists, though fortunately it does appear to be rare and in an extreme minority
  9. This isn't getting confirmed today is it? Not gonna sleep until it does
  10. Would be chuffed if this happens, firstly and more importantly because he is a quality striker and secondly it will piss on the Mackems cheesy chips
  11. Stroller really is an apt nickname for him. There was one moment in the 1st half where he did well to win it wide left on the halfway line, he passed the ball to the middle, eventually the ball is played out wide right and then Raylor advances with the ball and delivers a cross, yet where was Shola? Probably managed to advance about 10-15 yards in that time, just ambling forward with no desire whatsoever to get in the box, as soon as he laid the ball off he should have busted a gut to get into the box BUT he just ambles around. There was some good touches when he had his back to goal BUT he managed to ruin it by running into defenders or playing a shitty pass
  12. Played well and he more than helped out defensively. We have said it for a while now BUT he has to start, we are a better side with him in in Yes he lost the ball a few times BUT did he lose it more than any of the other players(midfield-strikers)? I don't think so, I would much prefer seeing him try to beat a man than us just launch it to Shola only to see us lose the header and the 2nd ball
  13. Cool as a cucumber reply from Demba Class :smitten:

    Leon Best

Good game, held the ball up well Nice bit of skill for the goal, he certainly has some skill in his armoury and he showed that nicely today
  15. Glad Guthrie is back BUT Ben Arfa on the bench is a fucking joke
  16. Ben Arfa needs to play on the right, he will tear Clint Hill a new one
  17. I think a lot of people have suggested we go for Clyne who is neither foreign nor will he cost 6 or 7 million Obviously if selling Simpson means we sign nobody then I doubt you will find a single person wanting us to sell Simpson
  18. If Fergie can't control him what is the chance that Pardew will sort him out? Then again maybe a move away from home will sort him out
  19. Campbell has been very unlucky, feel sorry for him, missed nearly 2 years of football. Can't ever remember seeing Meyler play tbh
  20. Indeed. When Whickam got injured I don't recall a single person here getting happy about it, in fact the reaction was the opposite. Sunderland a classy club? HAH
