Eh. He scored 19 PL goals the year before we bought him and we loved him until he got injured. Slightly less than Isak (23 and 21). He’s really good. You’ll be able to tell me your last player to score 19 Premier League goals in a season before Isak I hope.

I wish he was going to be playing with them. That would make our life a lot easier. Four of them are injured and one’s been sold.

Just for the record, Conor Gallagher has prior to now never missed a single game as a Professional footballer due to injury or illness. Note that something similar was said about Solanke…

Yeah I’ve got a lot of time for Flav. Seems to get the balance right - he’s proper Spurs but also just a football fan and interacts really well with other teams’ fans (as long as they’re not cunts). TFC is very much you and your mates down the pub talking shite but it’s funny (if you’re a Spurs fan), often insightful and well-edited. I don’t watch the Overlap or any of that stuff really but the clips I’ve seen make me glad he represents us. He seems adaptable enough to modulate his approach depending on the context while always coming across as genuine.

There are more, but there are only so many hours in the day Those ones are basically (1) a journalistic podcast with in-depth knowledge and analysis (2) a fan podcast that's like you and your mates down the pub (3) a quick match review. There are others that have deeper tactical analysis/different fan perspectives etc but those three are really all I usually want - often more than I want tbh. We're probably lucky to have so many good/listenable ones, but that might be a function of club size, location, demographics? Dunno. Somebody once said (a couple of years back?) that your Athletic one wasn't very good and that they actually listened to ours. I feel like surely you guys have to have at least one decent journalistic one and one decent fan one? I know the cast makes a massive difference. Danny Kelly hosts ours and is annoying but a proper Spurs fan and a pro (for the most part). Charlie Eccleshare was worth the price of admission on his own and he's left now, which was a pity. I think Flav does a cracking job with TFC and a cast of mates. Surely there's a good host out there for you guys?

Then they’re trying to produce too much content. How often do they release an episode? There are probably 3 or 4 Spurs podcasts I give time to. The Athletic one (View From The Lane) is typically a couple of shows a week, Flav does two Fighting Cocks plus probably one of his serious ones (The Lab), and The Tottenham Way are a couple of journalists who do early post-match reviews. An Echo of Glory is weekly plus the occasional addition. Every week that’s 1.5 hours from the Athletic, 2 hours of down-the-pub banter from TFC, 30-60mins from TTW and an hour or so from EOG. Any one podcast trying to generate more than 2-3hrs of content weekly is on a fool’s errand.

I think this is driven primarily by Bentancur being the latest casualty, and by him being English: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTTC5DQiFBe/?igsh=MXh6M2k3MWJ2Z2lkOA==

They threw that dignity away. Fuck them.

I’ve toyed with general football podcasts but I find that I just don’t care about almost anything they talk about any more. Not sure it’s the podcasts’ fault or just me. Mind you, I don’t really care about anything happening at Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea etc beyond schadenfreude so that means the bulk of their content is out.

Been thinking about that for a long time. Genuinely considering boycotting the World Cup, but I would absolutely support the Home Nations boycotting it.

Christ man, have you seen us recently? We might win because they’re not amazing, but it will be a grind. I think all our attacking CMs are out (Simons, Bergvall, Kulu, Maddison, even arguably Sarr), Solanke is still dead and Brennan Johnson is no more. Udogie is injured as well, of course. We had two keepers on the bench at Brentford. After the match, Thomas Frank got applause from the Brentford fans and the away fans were applauding the Spurs players. Frank stepped towards his fans and got roundly booed - specifically him. He needs to get players back - maybe one or two in - and start playing proper football soon or this will be a one season wonder.

There’s a history of similar issues between fans and the club over the last 20 years. There’s a chance Levy going might see a different approach.

They fucked up the allocations. There was talk of grouping together “singing fans” on the kop but it never happened. Then they sold a strip of seats down the middle at premium rates or something like that. Basically self-sabotage. Some fan groups are pushing for change and hopefully the “new” regime will take it on board. It would need relocation of ticket holders though.
-
Lol we’re not hammering anyone right now, although hopefully we’ll get a couple back soon.
-
Was wondering when we’d finally get to play them.
-
They are beyond parody.
-
I guess the question would be: in which direction?
-
Yup, which is why you start actually policing it. Until you do he will continue to do so. Like Saka with the foul stopping the break. There’s no incentive to stop, so they won’t, and there’s a genuine advantage being gained.
-
There’s that overhead kick floating about somewhere that was the first goal IIRC. Better than that?
-
Didn’t the ref have a word with Arteta about it at one point early in the first half? Then he just carried on immediately. It’s so frustrating. It’s a clear rule and there’s a fucking great big white line painted on the floor. Warn him once, then book him, then send him off. It’s not complicated. Do the same for everyone.
-
We only watched the first half round my sister’s - by the time we got home the game was done and my Villa wife couldn’t face it. Remember that Saka foul first half? The one where Villa are about to break and he just kicks the guy? Everyone else in the entire league gets a yellow for that except a Liverpool player at Anfield. (And Joelinton at St James’s Park )

This is a better one for me. The kid who scored the winner is one of ours btw, on loan: https://www.reddit.com/r/Championship/s/VcjGdXmeF2

This tbh. He’s an incredible finisher at times - couple of goals this year where he just cruised off at top speed and rolled in an immaculate finish - but never kicked on in a lot of other aspects of the game. We speculated if he could make it as a central forward but I guess not with us. The feeling when Frank came in was that he might be able to help him develop à la Watkins, Mbuemo etc. He’s clearly had enough of a look at him to go “nah”, which at least means he’s probably seen what we’ve seen.
-
No it’s a plus. Amortisation etc. Plus, you know, a trophy.
-
Only just saw this on Reddit and came straight here. Tbf I can imagine a context where a ref might be lenient (maybe they’d been fouling him constantly throughout the game and the ref had already doled out a ton of yellows) but the fact he’s right there looking at it is hilarious. The perfect candidate for a question “so ref, talk me through your thinking there.”
