Anderson's saying what I was thinking - hopefully us getting knocked off the top will be the kick up the arse we need. Our form's been patchy as fuck recently with too many draws creeping in. Swansea's massive now of course. -

He can play in defence , midfield and attack. He hasn't really found a position really just he can't play on the wings. Cheers. -

Pretty happy with that lineup, expected something a lot more negative. Would rather have seen Lovenkrands start mind, and it's strange that Ranger's not on the bench. What positions can Donaldson cover, I've not been paying attention. -
What about France and Guivarc'h? He did next to nowt for France in that World Cup they won.

I thought I'd won 70 quid on Birmingham, Chelsea, Mallorca, Inter and Celtic (put a fiver on). Turns out I bet on Celtic's league match against Hearts this coming Wednesday. Gonna be a long wait.

That was a super goal, outstanding stuff.

Impressive result tonight anyway and it's heartening that we pulled that out of the bag with our six January signings all starting the game. I feel much less tetchy about our prospects now we've got 2 competent and natural wingers, hopefully we'll rip a few teams apart between now and the end of the season due to that extra pace and balance. Very encouraging. -

This is how people see you on here. Brutal. "Interpolic? Aye, he's a nice lad. Thick, like." Fucking eesh btw Keefaz, Jesus. I knew what you bloody meant, no imaginary quotation required. You should have seen some of my A-Level results, they were intimidating. Such as 100/100 in one exam in General Studies. Just blabbered on about how I loved Radiohead and how Westlife were borderline psychotic. -

I'm liking Friday night matches so far. -
Woodgate, don't know if he's been mentioned yet. Imagine the player he could have been if he played as many games as someone like Terry, Lampard or Rooney.

I saw this this article a while back, and it's a very good read. It's about a guy called Paul Lake who played for Man City who was an absolutely fantastic prospect but was restricted to 134 games due to horrifc injury problems. The article's quite long but I recommend it, it's a great read as I say and it inspired me to read up more on him: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A42751785

He was brought in to bring discpline, the problem was, the owners and the players were misbehaving. I've said it before, our appointments under Hall/Shepherd tended to be reactionary to say the least. Dalglish - wanted a more pragmatic approach as Keegan's team was perceived to be too cavalier. Gullit - enough of that now, doesn't work and the fans hate it. Give us sexy football. Robson - Gullit didn't understand Newcastle's heritage, get a Geordie in (admittedly a Geordie who was a top class coach and in between jobs). Souness - Robson too soft, let's get a renowned hard man in to bang heads together. Roeder - was just a soft and easy option really, reasons aren't as clear or bland as with the others. Allardyce - issues with injuries / players not being as good on the pitch as on paper. Get in the sports science nut with a reputation for making a team more than the sum of its parts, don't care if the football's shit. For the record I wasn't against the appointments of the first 3, and the most reactionary appointment was clearly Souness, easily.
