Probably wants shot of him tbh, was easier having a spineless Ashley mouthpiece around to take the flak.
-
Atsu, Lejeune, Murphy, Manquillo, Merino, Joselu. If that ends up being it then it's absolutely pathetic like. Was so clear last season that we needed real improvement all over the pitch. Net spend of £18m currently as well. Complete joke and I don't know why I expected anything better.

A lot of people on here seem to have made their mind up on Gayle's suitability for the PL very fucking quickly like.
-
Not particularly happy about this one like. Piles of deadwood to shift and we sell one of our best players from last season the day before deadline day. Seems ridiculous tbh.
-
Be absolute scenes if thomas goes vegan on transfer deadline day
-
Seems very dodgy timing to suddenly decide we want shot of our top scorer from last season. I'd be disappointed, personally think he can score goals in the PL.

This could put Norwich on the map.

This didn't deserve to go unnoticed

e.g. Dwight Gayle

Had same thought. Jovetic/Joselu new Beardsley/Cole. We lost our first 2 in 1993/94 as well, including an opening day defeat to Spurs at home. We're finishing 3rd. There were 22 teams in the league those days, which I think means we're finishing 1st

People everywhere seem to be in an increasing rush to air their judgements on things these days, it's weird. First few games weren't good like but that's all it was, a few games. We're clearly going to be a pretty solid unit, the main worry is where our goals are going to come from when we're playing better teams than West Ham. If Benitez stays then I think we'll be areet.

Reminds me of Speed. If he can score goals as well then he's really got the lot.

Lanzini was pretty angry like, and was gesturing that he'd been elbowed.

No money for knee ops but always money for grassing on Serbs

He's got pure Furby eyes

Should definitely have arrested him like, scenes like this are what football lacks imo:

Merson and McInally on Soccer Saturday are saying the same now, that Rafa's too good for this shit show basically. All fairly normal, then "Rafa should buzz off" Eccentric fucker.
-
One or two quotes were necessary to bring it to the surface. I'm not sure what constant, weekly negative soundbites are achieving at all. One or two quotes allows Ashley to get off lightly and continue doing what he's doing without feeling the need to do an interview with Sky Sports on the eve of the season in an effort to deflect flak. Rafa has clearly been trying to pressure them into keeping up their side of the bargain and it hasn't worked, because Rafa has the best interests of the club at heart and they don't give a shit. I've no issue with him employing whatever tactics he likes to get what was promised, this idea that he needs to just sit there and be quiet is bizarre. Part of the appeal with Benitez when he joined was that he wouldn't stand for any of their shit.
-
Rafa clearly expected to have money to spend in January and more than he has been given this summer, and in both instances for us to move for his targets quickly and get them sorted. It's that aspect of the situation that justifies his quotes in the press, it's bloody obvious that the goalposts have been moved behind the scenes, again.
-
They'll doubtless talk about the quotes on Soccer Saturday with Merson etc saying Benitez needs to stop moaning, as is the Bishop narrative now.

Next manager is the real test imo
