There's nobody to put in for Gordon and we play again in less than 3 days. Would be amazed if Tino doesn't start on Tuesday. -

We'd have been saying "Look at that bench man ffs" a few months back but definitely shaping up a lot better than it was. Get Barnes and Joelinton back and it's looking good as we really need to be able to freshen up in the wide areas. -
Yeah there were definitely big mistakes made at board level. They either needed to back Robson or move him upstairs, what we ended up doing was the worst way to handle it. Undermining him before a ball was kicked as you say, signing players he didn't seem to want (Butt over Carrick felt a sliding doors moment) and getting Souness in next. Really shit decision making which set us back years.
-
Yeah because you're making lazy assumptions about our fanbase when there isn't enough evidence to support it. You've given two examples, one of them was a shit manager and the other was a legend but was very old and had shown signs of losing control of the players, and the team had shown signs of decline. Almost all of the other managers we've had have been shit and unpopular. There is no other example like Howe. In fact there is - Kevin Keegan. 3rd in our first season back up in the PL, down to 6th in the 2nd and we sold Cole to Man Utd which he was keen to justify. There was no mutiny, the fans stuck with him. You're talking shite.

Yeah I saw you name Pardew the other day, I'd love to know what Newcastle fans should have waited patiently for him to achieve. The season after finishing 5th he proudly proclaimed how thankful he was that we hadn't qualified for Europe again. Then he went to Palace and they fell off a cliff after a good start, as had happened at all of his previous clubs once his bluster had worn thin. The impatience accusation doesn't work when the fans are right.
-
What's the point in you repeatedly telling us how impatient Newcastle fans are then, on the basis of their treatment of one manager, when you're also saying basically all football fans are the same?
-
We're in much greater need of a winger, striker, keeper and/or centre half, before we think about spending decent money on another midfielder.
-
Trippier's obviously had a net positive impact on us to a ludicrous degree, he's transformed us with his leadership and the level of his play going forwards and backwards. He's clearly going through a hard time at present, so the question is do you trust him to sort himself out and the team / management to circle around him and help him turn it around? And in the meantime say "These things happen, we still trust you". Togetherness as a team and a fanbase is very easy when we're riding a high, not so easy when things are difficult but I think most reasonable fans have views similar to the above. He's a legend, it'll pass.

They did this last time. They're the Boris Johnson of football clubs - they wait to see which way the wind is blowing then jump on the majority viewpoint and act like it was their idea.

The Managerial Merry Go Roundâ„¢ - Ivan Juric to Southampton

Is it just me or are people going a bit OTT about how bad Nuno apparently is? I know it went south at Spurs quickly but he had Wolves playing and doing very well for a few years. -
What if he doesn't?

That's the one, cheers! First time in a long time I've seen those 2 clips -
This is the reason nobody should ever choose captain and vice captain from the same fixture btw, was an especially useful tip during Covid.
-
Think it'll be open til they decide what to do about Bournemouth-Luton. If the 2 teams accepted the result then points would stand I think, although it would appear more likely it's replayed and points are wiped.

Was just about to post about this, it's worth watching for anyone who hasn't seen it - 0:24 on this vid: Pretty sure Alan Neilson cleared one for us that same season, was almost as impressive even though it was on the ground. Can't find a vid though, anyone remember the game? -

Unless he knew about it then it's a non-factor, surely. How's he meant to have known? -
Haven't watched yet but pls stop making the little bairn do interviews, man

Imagine just assuming someone was left footed and not checking. I don't think I'd do that before posting on here
-
Start throwing games ASAP.

Would it help you lads if I told you that none of us have any control over the team selection and Howe will pick the team that he wants to, regardless of what's said in here?

Press conference on SSN just now, said: - Joelinton and Schar don't look too bad but he's reluctant to confirm that til they see the scan results today - Botman has recovered well, they need to decide if/when he's ready to start - Trippier will be in squad for Chelsea but has a knock, need to see how he is in training - Anderson went to a specialist for a review, injury is healing slowly - Targett is on target with rehab after surgery - Had some hard League Cup draws, determined to progress and create more memories - Have a bond with competition, thinks last year has helped us with the games this year - Game on Saturday was important mentally for us to re-focus, not be too emotional about setback versus Milan - All players are popular as there is a good camaraderie but certain players lift the team and Botman is one of those - Everyone at club rates Botman as a footballer highly, he gives confidence to everyone around him on the pitch - Isak had a scan last week, groin problem only minor but they are being cautious. Has a chance for tomorrow
