I don't mind Gouffran as a wide player in a 3, think there's enough creativity/end product in a front 3 of him, Ben Arfa and Cisse. It's him playing wide in a 4-4-2 that's done my head in.

So Sherwood's managed it in less than 6 months, Pardew's never done it during his entire managerial career of 10 years plus. Just saying it might tell you something about football philosophies. There's not many of these Ben Arfa types around though. Every manager will have had their struggles with this type of player in their managerial careers. Pardew has shown he can work with flair and play them, doesn't mean to say they have to have a horrible attitude to football to prove himself. Horrible attitude to football? What?
