  1. Did we magic up a top 5 quality side (according to at least one person on here) out of thin air? Ashley's not some evil lunatic ffs. If we can get better players for a realistic price, of course we'll invest. Where's your evidence that we'll ever spend more than we bring in on transfers?
  2. On the plus side, this is the only way we'll sign any players - we'll probably get 3 or 4 with this cash over the next couple of windows, when otherwise we'd have doubtless gone without.
  3. Shame if he's not sticking around to aid us in our quest for 8th.
  4. You should really drop that one from your repertoire if you want to appear convincing.
  5. Really, you 2 are saying that? I was there and it was canny enough but howay man.

Aye I agree, was more on about the language used.
  7. Arsenal away he was insanely good, pretty much won that game on his own.

Sickening incident. Fuck off man, tabloids.
  9. Aye well done mate, they both have mouths and teeth.
  10. He's really not like. Aye, not at all. 'Screaming' that was he? Honestly, I just don't get it. There must be some perverse pleasure to people winding themselves into a froth over the snippets we pick out (this one seeing him seemingly answering a question with a standard straight 'no shit Sherlock' answer). What actual evidence has there been to suggest we have any sort of policy to flog our players at the first hint of a profit? Heck, one could quite easily argue that we have been actually better at keeping the decent ones over the past few seasons than at almost any time over the past few decades. Oh, so your emphasis was on "screaming", was it? Not sure if he screamed it - I need to hear a tape recording. Nobody was talking about Cabaye leaving last summer, then Pardew started prattling on about it in interviews, then it seemed to become an issue. It wouldn't surprise me if we're waiting for a big sale before we spend any more money, the Carroll money's probably just about ran out now.
  11. Not sure what I'd say if the club said "Liverpool have offered us £35m and we want to sell you, so off you go" but we've been here before.
  12. Agree tbh, not until he's done more than he has anyway.
  13. Ferguson was a tremendous striker, without the injuries I think you'd be talking about him in the safe breath as the likes of Yorke, Sheringham and Wright.
  14. Looked decent at the back end of last season, hence the reason why West Ham foolishly spunked most of their transfer budget on him. He's one of the better strikers I've ever seen play for the club, guy was looking like a world beater in the half season before he was sold. Think he'll end up being a Duncan Ferguson type who is impossible to deal with on his day but ends up injured too much.
