Nah, I'm not having it like. If they're still in the mix to stay up then I think there's a very good chance they'd play a weakened side in the final.
-
They'll get fined by the FA if they do. Unless they get fined 50 million quid or whatever then that doesn't make a blind bit of difference. I think they might do it if they get the points against Swansea.
-
Any chance Wigan will play a reserve team in the FA Cup final?
-
you think wigan will beat WBA and Swansea? I doubt it. I don't see why not like, they pushed Spurs close the other day and WBA and Swansea have zero motivation to pull up any trees. Well for me, they havent just become a team that can go and gets wins whenever they want. WBA is a tough place to go and they had a great win on saturday. Wigans form is marginally better than ours. Swansea aye, west brom away I dont think so 30 24 March 2012 Liverpool 1 – 2 Wigan Athletic Liverpool [show] 31 31 March 2012 Wigan Athletic 2 – 0 Stoke City Wigan [show] 32 7 April 2012 Chelsea 2 – 1 Wigan Athletic London [show] 33 11 April 2012 Wigan Athletic 1 – 0 Manchester United Wigan [show] 34 16 April 2012 Arsenal 1 – 2 Wigan Athletic London [show] 35 21 April 2012 Fulham 2 – 1 Wigan Athletic London [show] 36 28 April 2012 Wigan Athletic 4 – 0 Newcastle United Wigan [show] 37 7 May 2012 Blackburn Rovers 0 – 1 Wigan Athletic Blackburn [show] 38 13 May 2012 Wigan Athletic 3 – 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers Wigan [show] I'm not so sure. They won when they wanted when it mattered towards the end of last season. We'll see, I hope you're right.

Indeed. Tonight has confirmed it even more. You have to think/hope the people running the show at NUFC had an eye on this game tonight. We're sinking like a stone, a change is needed.
-
I don't think so either, but I fancy Villa against Norwich and can see West Brom letting us down against Norwich and Wigan. Also could see Wigan beating Swansea. The goal difference fuck-up could end up being vital.
-
We could if Wigan won 3 out of 4, or won 2 convincingly and drew 2. Not completely out of the question if you look at the fixtures.
-
I think that means we need to win against West Ham. Can't risk our lot dropping their arses against QPR and needing anything against Arsenal. Depressing.
-
It was clear some weeks ago that Villa and Wigan were picking up in form, and unfortunately Stoke, Norwich and Sunderland have picked up points recently too. You just have to hope Wigan don't get enough points to trouble us, but their next 2 games are against teams with nothing to play for. I think the most frustrating thing is that if we went down I couldn't argue about it whatsoever, we're easily one of the least enterprising teams in the league and I'd want us down if I were a neutral.

I'm reacting aggressively, shouting that I don't want to talk about it but the approach isn't improving matters. -

Getting absolutely ripped about this by anyone and everyone at work today FFS. -
Hmm, my choice was Van Persie.

What's your point? That we would be safe from relegation had we invested sooner. So we go from 5th one season to just being safe. That the main reason for our current predicament is the lack of depth combined with long-term injuries to several key players occurring throughout the season. Have you got a brain or is your head just full of shit? We've got hardly any injuries at the minute and we've just been beaten 9-0 on aggregate at home to 2 average teams, both missing their top scorer. Honestly man, look at the sides we've put out (especially since Christmas), Pardew's making Roeder look like Carlo Ancelotti.
-
Hmm, the more I think about it the more I think I might want him to go now. Neither way's good though, the situation absolutely sucks.

Cabaye who isn't even fit to captain. Love how you didn't question the rest of the post Nobody can argue with the Obertan stuff.

I'm not sure if it would be that bad but I'm really struggling to think who we'd end up with. I'd probably stick with him until the last game of the season but don't really care either way, I think we'll be lucky to stay up whatever we do now. It'd be someone mates with the board in some way, that's if we got anyone at all. No manager of any repute would take on a club this close to relegation with only 3 games left, why on earth would they want that on their CV? He needs to be replaced in the summer, whether we stay up or not. I still don't think he will. Yeah, I'm not sure why anyone in their right mind would do it, unless they were quite desperate and thought getting 3 or 4 points with that squad was an easy enough task. Can't help thinking we'd end up getting someone like Mark Hughes or Alan Curbishley. No reason why we can't get someone much better than that in the summer though obviously. There's one massive reason, and that's why we have to roll the dice imo. Aye, true. I think I'm trying to block that possibility out, I was in denial last time it happened as well. I just think we'll struggle whatever we do now, it's a crap situation.

Heel turn, what heel turn?
-
That's my main worry, it's all about momentum when you get to this stage and we look fucking demoralised.

I agreed with everything other than this, they are 7th in the table. Its hardly a result that is worthy of praise. Sure they look a lot better than us but who doesn't? this doesn't mean he's done a fantastic job. It just shows how awful Pardew is, i mean 7th place ffs if you asked Liverpool fans at the beginning of season that would have been the very minimum of the expectations. He's got them playing though, they're developing a platform for future success, which is the exact opposite of us last season as that was built on sand.
