  2. I fucking HATE the word dossier when used in relation to football.
  3. The people who have lost faith in the policy are the ones who are demanding a list of names of players who would be better value than Carroll. The people who are saying there are better players to buy are the ones who trust the policy. Not if we spend £10m+ on Carroll they're not, which seems a fair possibility.

    Papiss Cissé

    Fucking arseholes.
  5. Oh God, what if he re-signs and Santon decides he wants to grow long hair (because most Italian footballers have long hair) and then they have an argument about who has the best long hair and then Carroll nuts Santon and says he has the best long hair and Santon falls over and poor Mike Williamson has to pick up the pieces AS USUAL.
  6. Why were you so loathe to admit that? Plenty of people in similar boats here. The main reason I asked is because a lot of such European football know-it-alls on here are foreign. I presumed you were Scandanavian.
  7. I just stated the type of player that i'd like to see us go for, i don't have to state names because that isn't my job. All i want is a forward who can play wide so we can stick to 4-2-3-1/4-3-3. Carroll can only play 1 position. I have never been against Carroll's ability as a player and what he can bring i'm against his attitude, his tactical versatility and his price. But because my opinion is different, i'm a football manager freak and a foreigner who has no right to give his opinion on the team he has supported since he was 4 years old. Tbf, if you've only been supporting us for 10 years, you should be able to remember how good Carroll was. Try 18 years smart arse Plus of course i remember how good Carroll was, but i'm convinced that Carroll cant be replicated on a regular basis. Carroll was the go to guy in that team and everything was built for him, now he would just be another player and i'm not sure he could perform to the same level in such a scenario. Anyway i have said many times why i dont want Carroll and its not for ability reasons. It's for tactical, attitude and financial reasons. Where then, it's honestly not a problem if it's not Fenham but the way you're avoiding the question has made it an issue.
  8. Your getting tired of what exactly? the fact i dont want him because he costs far too much and would rather someone who is versatile and fits more than one system and can play in more one position. Dont see what the problem with that is. Also why does where i'm from matter? Also i dont even play football manager Where then?
  9. I think the bigger debate here is why a number of people have lost faith with our buying policy now we're linked with a guy who has already smashed goals in for us. Cost/tactics/attitude arguments are valid but ability/buying policy arguments are not. A lot of people on here who watch every single game in Europe each week while still leading their team to glory on Football Manager time and time again have opinions that are there to be respected and admired but there you go. Sewelly I'll believe in because he's just a daft football freak with a football illness and decent craic but these other ones can piss off.
  10. Where are you from/based Mole_Toonfan? I'd like to know. Fed up with this now.
  11. Aye, obviously. Hopefully Julio Leftsidededforwardo will be brought in for around £7m and will just definitely be better than Carroll could ever dream of being. People that are openly adverse to this transfer can piss off imo, unless it's mainly based on cost or tactics, which is fair enough and a different argument.
  12. Never thought about it like that, but it is quite similar Fuck off.
  13. No they won't. Would be hugely surprised anyway. Have this post for your sig if I'm wrong.
  14. It's 12 months of good form (forget the Championship season if you like but do the same for the likes of Coloccini) and the Liverpool move hasn't worked out.
  15. Not really he's never been a good footballer, he was good at being on the end the type of attacks we built during that time span but he was never a good footballer. Also he's been awful for longer than he's been good. This is the type of thing I'm talking about. He was immense for us in 2010, you must have been in a coma during that period and compensated by having a flick through the book of football cliches. What Ian W's saying is fair enough but comments like yours are ridiculous. He's had a bad time at Liverpool but will be a good Premier League player.
  16. It's fucking mental how Carroll's suddenly become the most useless laughing stock in the league to some people on here, hilariously short memories.
  17. Considering the poll we had before this one (around 2/3 in favour of him returning) it appears the anti-Carroll folk are far more vocal than those on the other side. FWIW I'd have Remy over Carroll based on what I've seen/heard about him but I still wouldn't be disappointed if we got Carroll as long as we don't pay over the odds. It appears people are suddenly picking and choosing when to trust the decisions of those running the club, something that hasn't happened for a while. I trust them in terms of player recruitment now but they do have a tendency to dig their heels and take the gamble of leaving us without cover at times. One day that will bite them in the arse but in terms of the personnel I'm happy to let them get on with it.
  18. Didn't realise that was happening again.
  19. That was exciting. They basically play football like I play FIFA when I'm having a really bad off day.
  20. Wat? It is pretty similar tbf. I say this because I've already made that observation.
