What are people's order of priorities if this one falls through then? Although Simpson's the weakest link in the first 11 I think I'd value more depth through the middle of the park than having right back as top priority. Would be a bit disappointing to not strengthen at right back but we have Simpson/Perch/the Taylors/Santon/Jonas who can play there if required. More concerned about lack of first team depth at centre half, up front and central midfield if I'm honest.

If we're not offering what they think he's worth then they've no reason to sell, find it a bit rich that fans of the club that held out for £35m for Andy Carroll can have any ill feeling towards the selling club in instances like this. It seems that this is the game NUFC play a lot of the time, it can be frustrating but I've largely got faith in us to go into next season in good shape. Just hope we don't leave ourselves too short as we can only get away with that so many times before it gets damaging.

For a while I thought that players got to keep the yellow and red cards they were given as mementoes, but to be fair this was down to a highly misleading comedy segment with Vinnie Jones on the Big Breakfast.

I used to think the way the league table worked was that the 2 teams in any given fixture would swap places if the lower placed team won. I did think this was unfair as a team could lose every match right up to the last game and still win the league but then I later realised that I'd made it up.

GB group scores identical to that of England in the Euros but for 1 goal in the 2nd game, bit weird.
