The ludicrous decision to announce it was Robson's last season wasn't the only way he was undermined either, I'm not convinced that Robson wanted the likes of Kluivert and Butt that summer. Seem to remember reading that Robson would have preferred Carrick from West Ham ahead of Butt for starters, which would have actually worked out as a far cheaper and wiser investment. I wasn't happy that summer and couldn't decide if I wanted him backed or sacked but you do one or the other, as I say.

Williamson's certainly not good enough for 3rd choice if we want to progress. I like him but am often shitting myself when he plays, he did well to pull himself together after what looked like a crisis of confidence last season but he was a big concern at one point and NUFC just about got away with it. Want no repeat of us having to rely on him like that again because there are no better options. He should be playing 10-15 games in all competitions, tops. Also, in effect he's actually 2nd/3rd choice given Taylor's injury record.

I'll not be too happy if we don't sign another centre half tbh. Can't keep gambling on Taylor being fit all season when he's, erm, injured for large stretches every season.
