  1. It isn't so much of a catastrophe until we find that he simply doesn't have the physical presence to defend properly during those key moments. Fair play to him for doing his best, but he is naturally inadequate in that position. At least he isn't fouling too much around the box so I suppose that is a plus.
  2. Callum McManaman looks fairly similar to Joey.
  3. To be honest though, most the animosity generated by the Carroll transfer was the fact that we left it so late. It was difficult to spot anyone arguing about the fee.

    Players in public

Absolutely chilling thing to say consider the current circumstances.

    Tamas Kadar

I have a sneaking suspicion that this may be more related to his attitude rather than his ability as a centre back. I have no evidence obviously, but it's one of things I can feel... Real shame though. I really rated him 2 seasons ago.
  6. What game were you watching? http://i.digiguide.tv/up/1105/1305230400-800398-ExtremeFi-13049333920.jpg http://www.me-me-me.tv/images/2009/03/robson-green8.jpg I raise with a naked Robson Green.
  7. There's no way I would support Simpson playing as a centre back considering his tendency to back away and fail to close down incoming players. Any word on how Santon plays as a full back? Is his style of play similar to Jose Enrique, and if so would it worth playing him as our other CB?

    Alan Pardew

This is the first time this season we have come into some strife and with 5 games before the transfer window opens, this will be a big test for Pardew and his ability to balance the squad and utilise the little depth we have. If he can secure a quality centre back before the Manchester United match while reaping at least 10 points, I will be very impressed.
  9. I'm figuring we might have a Perch/Santon pairing at CB. How the mighty fall...
  10. Lets hope that Colo and Tayls will be back in for this one. Beats me how we could have believed that we would have been able to get through half a season with only 3 CBs on the books.
  11. Played quite well in my opinion. He has a clear knack for picking a long pass which gave us a lot of options today. It is a shame that the end product from the rest of the team wasn't as up to par of our usual standards.

    Sunderland...

If MON flops at Sunderland, SAFC will doomed to always be a never club. If Short gives MON the financial backing, they SHOULD be able to get into the top 10 consistently maybe after 2 seasons? Great move for them. Let's hope it doesn't work out.
  13. Well I was right about Balotelli dying his hair blonde.

    Alan Pardew

HBA picked up that yellow card earlier in the game so I suppose Pardew made the decision that we would hold out for the rest of the game thus was indifferent of having Loven on.
  15. Well I'm glad to see that we didn't collapse after losing to City. The characters we have in our team exude an aura of confidence when they play so the club knows that it can properly compete with the big boys. This puts us in great stead four the Chelsea game. Bring it on.
  16. That's the type of signing we need in the next window. A player which can cover the back four and is young so their best years are ahead of them. Hoping that Tayls & Colo remain fit for as season is suicide.
  17. It was fairly obvious that morale didn't drop after conceding those goals as there was still a lot of fight in the players despite all the energy they used in the first half chasing City's players around the pitch. I'm sure that the confidence we've have throughout the season so far won't waver because of this loss. This puts us in good stead for our next match against Manure.
