  1. Worlds apart really. They started off with no confidence, which just invited pressure, and got them off to a pretty bad start. Absolute horrific refereeing though. But ultimately, they are worlds apart, and the new lasses are the worst performers.
  2. So reading up further of it, apparently these amendments have to go to vote. If just 1 Lord or Baroness votes against it, then the amendment gets thrown out. Our best bet is to get Lord Parkinson of Whitley Bay who is a Newcastle fan, to vote against it. He even opened the reading of the bill the day the amendment was proposed with stories of his love of Newcastle United. It is worth noting that he is a Conservative who believes very much in the free market, so he may also be against it in that aspect. I don’t know if there are any other sitting Lords who are Newcastle fans who would vote against it?

If they did do direct to consumer distribution, then they would likely end up also changing the distribution model. On the international distribution schemes, the top 6 already receive a greater proportion of revenue compared with the rest of the league. I’d say they would do something like you can subscribe via your own club, and if you do that, then your club gets a greater percentage of the fee on top of what is equally paid out, however if you subscribe via the Premier League, then they will distribute more of that fee to the top 6 clubs, under the assumption that they are likely being you in as a fan, instead of the other clubs.
  4. It would be at and odds of existing law though.
  5. It is the House of Lords proposing this amendment, which will be debated on Wednesday.
  6. Portsmouth went bust because of their debt to owners. As the Premier League have only just voted to ban non market value ownership loans this week, and because they have been told not doing so would be illegal, it is further evidence that they had no intent of stopping clubs from doing a Portsmouth.
  7. The amendment will be debated in the House of Lords on Wednesday. I think someone will come back to them and say that it may fall foul of U.K. law in regards to ownership of a company, and could be tested. Others may argue that it is overreach of what the bill intends to do, which is to set aside some basic rules which the football authorities have to adhere too. I would also argue that it specifically targets 1 club, which is against the spirit of law writing/creation. If the amendment passed, it would have to go back to the House of Commons who would also have the ability to accept, or reject the changes. Again, the issues, both the spirit of them, and legality of them would be debated. Assuming it did pass all of these, I would assume the club would just spin off from PIF, and be put into private equity portfolio, which is how the City group who own the majority of Man City is owned.
  8. The Premier League rejected their proposed sponsorship with Riyadh Air.
  9. For what it’s worth, I’m going to email Chi and say that this clause is being proposed by a Liverpool fan who is speaking on behalf of his club in their attempts to retain a portion of domination in football, and not on behalf of the people of the country, and or those within football. Therefor his actions of proposing such a clause is un-ethical, and that it should be disregarded, and himself warned and/or punished for his actions.
  10. Man City are technically owned by a private investment group, where as we are owned by a sovereign wealth fund. We will end up being owned in a similar manner to Man City. Man City will just change their directors.
  11. They’d just spin NUFC outside of PIF. Man City is ran in a similar manner, where officially it’s not state owned.
  12. You just fucking now which game out of all that they will win. Absolute fucking spawny cunts.

I mean the whole country is doing that in anyway. I have two mates who are police officers who each have one. A lass who I used to work with was doing a masters degree in criminology, and she was researching why people have one. Nearly every single answer she gained was that it was for the football, primarily for the games that are not shown on TV. Needless to say, she had one. It’s fucking stupid man. Music artists realised in the early 2000’s that you had to make music attainable. So Apple came along with iTunes, convinced the record labels to allow them to sell individual songs for 99p. The pirating networks shut down. Movie networks did similar, allowed for the likes of Netflix to happen, Cinema’s themselves started allowing discounted tickets like Orange Wednesdays, which has morphed into Meerkat Movies, and Amazon Prime Seats etc. The pirating of movies has gone down drastically. To be honest, if football was allowed to be viewed more, then movie pirating would go down even further, as most people only do it because the IPTV they have for football often includes football.

I bet you that without googling it, they couldn’t even answer which school it was that he went too.
  15. Arsenal aren’t winning it. They are 6 points behind, with Liverpool having a game in hand against Southampton. We haven’t even reached December yet, and are still at least 3 months away from Arsenals arse from falling out.

In all honesty, and this isn’t limited to just NUFC. I honestly think the Premier League needs to start thinking about some compromises in regards to televising games. We all have our opinions on if the 3pm blackout rule should exist or not. I doubt many people would change their mind unless it was scrapped and we see what happens. Anyway, with stadiums being at capacity, all around the country, they really need to think about allowing games to be shown at designated fan parks. We obviously have the Sela fan park, I believe Aston Villa are building one a similar distance away from Villa Park, and Man City are building one as part of their expansion. It’s stupid that non-televised games can’t be shown at these fan zones. Teams who have fans locked out due to capacity issues, who can’t even let those fans see their teams play on TV. Each club should be allowed 1 offsite venue that can show games. Heck the Premier League could monopolise it themselves and have their own Premier League sports bars located in each city.

    It would be over subscribed.
  18. Absolute ban worthy opinion that like. Liverpool winning the league would be nauseating, we all know it would be.
  19. They are though. They stood back and did fuck all whilst Liverpool, and Man Utd teams up with Rick Parry to steal football. They stood back when the top 6 wanted to breakaway with the ESL and let the Premier League give them the punishments the clubs decided upon. They never paid the money owed to grassroots football teams, and let the likes of Mars, and McDonalds create facilities with their own money instead. They then tried to use giving football to grassroots football as a reason to sell Wembley. They had Southgate as a manager for 8 years, and clearly had no succession plan for his replacement, nor did they have any succession plans for any of his predecessors. They have stood by and let the standard of referee’s get to a laughable level. They have no pathway to train new coaches without it being very few select individuals to pay obscene amounts of money to do so. They are like that sketch in the Mike Bassett movie, where they sit in an office, ignoring the manager, and just cashing in the money.
  20. I still think that if Man City get 1 back early enough, then they’ll win it. Spurs’ arse will drop, and their shit defence will be taken apart.
  21. Just going to shamelessly pinch that off me eh?

Yeah. I honestly wish that they used the event to put forward more details, like the two full plans, location, time scales, renders etc. If they did, then we would now have a clear view of what’s on the table. Those who have reservations about moving may have their concerns eased. Similarly, those of us open to a move may now not be willing if there are compromises. We would know where we stand, and what’s on the table, instead of this constant discussion about what it may or may not entail.
